Stop and Sea — Restaurant in Lake Township

Absolutely a hidden gem!!! My gluten intolerant fiancé and I walked in, most of the staff, including the owner/cook, all welcomed us like we were regulars. The place was at about 60% capacity. Drink orders taken, drinks delivered, daily special communicated or our server was ready to take our orders, all in less than 3 minutes. Talked with the server about what she recommended and she referenced the owners top picks as well as hers. Ordered bang bang GF shrimp with slaw and fries and the bacon and blue burger with chips and pickles.

WOW! Blue cheese dressing is made in house. The bang bang shrimp sauce is GF and dairy free. Burger was smash style with ample blue cheese and lots of fresh veggies. Slaw was delicious, fries are fresh cut shoestring style. Like perfect fair fries. 10/10 for the food. We will be back.

The cook/owner came out and checked on us and revealed he has family members who are GF and DF and extremely sensitive to either so his kitchen is meticulous. He also informed us the bacon and blue burger was a state award winning burger from a previous restaurant he was a cook at and he brought the recipe with him. SUPER nice service.

From the time we ordered to the time we had food in front of us, less than 6 minutes. No joke.

The owner said he does not advertise and to be honest, he doesn’t need to. I heard about from a local group facebook post from a customer and we gave it a shot. You should too!! Reasonable prices, especially with the portion sizes. Atmosphere was small town diner like.

We loved everything about it and are already planning to go back very soon. Pay them a visit, support small businesses and enjoy some very delicious and allergy safe food.

PS: they have a sign at the entrance stating “no nuts allowed” so no chance of tree nut allergies. They do have a burger that has peanut butter so you may want to call ahead to get more info about what they do for that but like I said, they are VERY meticulous about food...

My 12 year old and I camp up at Indian Lake, whenever we need a big grocery haul we go to Belfountaine, but have never stopped to really explore the town. We had a list of places we wanted to try, Ill be honest, Stop and Sea was not on the list. Not even thinking about today being July 4th, we drove out to explore. EVERYTHING on our list was closed. We slowly drove up and down the street until we saw a place that was open. We were so hungry and frustrated because I didn't check ahead of time. We were about to give up when we spotted Stop and Sea, its small and easy to miss. We pulled in, happy to see it was a seated table restaurant and not counter ordering. Its a small diner setting that looks like it was a fast food chain turned into a diner. I got the salmon sandwich and my kiddo got the shrimp basket. We were supposed to share both, but he absolutely destroyed my sandwich! One of the best sandwiches ive ever had. The servers were clearly busy and moving fast, but checked on us regularly and despite being busy, didn't make us feel rushed. They brought malt vinegar out with the fries, which is an immediate win in my book, the shrimp was piping hot and perfectly crispy. The sweet chili sauce was a perfect addition to the sandwich and the shrimp. 6 hours later and hes begging me to go back for dinner tonight lol. He said he just NEEDS more of that sandwich! I stopped here on my way through to the columbus zoo. I ordered by phone and picked up our order. My son and I are celiac and we ordered the bang bang shrimp and haddock basket. Hands down the best fish and fried shrimp I have had in 20 years! So fresh and crunchy!! I spoken with the owner on Facebook messenger and in person upon picking up my order. We had zero symptoms or side effects after eating! The fries were shoe string style and so good with The bang bang sauce! The staff was so friendly and went above and beyond to ensure my food was safe from cross contamination and separated in different bags from the regular sandwiches.
