First time. Made advance reservations. Nice but smaller than pics showed. Requested best table. Got booth RIGHT next to bar. Barely room for servers much less bar patrons who were having a REALLY good time. Expected crowds for Valentines day but not in our laps. Only Valentines special was rosebud around red candle. Complimentary pizza bread, cucumber salad & pickled green peppers were great. Clam chowder was good, salad was fresh, crisp & came with 1 quarter of a tomato. Asked for bread, got 1/4 loaf of cold French bread with dinner. 25 oz bone in ribeye with grilled onions was good. Twice baked potatoe was 1/2 potatoe good but no butter, sour cream or seasoning. 10 oz filet with DeJonge topping was garlicky & so dry it fell off steak at first cut. Very little au ju so steak was dry too. House Grigio was awful but Meiomi Pinot Nior was good. Molton lava cake was good but served in a cup so missed the lava flow. Death by Chocolat martini was to die for. Btw entertainment was good. We will try again but not on a holiday or in the bar.

This place is a solid two stars. Had not been by in a while so I gave it a try. Mediocre at best. They used to give you a pickle tray and focaccia bread. I got one slice of the bread, a small bowl of cole slaw and a single slice of pickled green pepper. The meat loaf tasted like high school lunch room meat loaf. When I asked for more bread, I was informed it would be a four dollar upcharge for another bread serving. Seriously. Hard pass on this place. Not long for this planet at this level of poor execution.

The New York strip was huge! The flavoring and the cook, were spot on. Although the steak could have been more tender, it tasted delicious so I can't take off any stars for that. Upon seating they served complimentary bread with a tomato sauce and cheese, a small portion of noodle salad, and a slice of cooked bell pepper. The soup that I had before my meal was hot and welcoming. The house merlot went perfectly with the meal. Service was outstanding. Nice experience!

The First Experience We had a reservation for a certain time. We were told it would be a couple minutes. We were told to find a seat at the already packed bar. (I'm on crutches and no seats available). Okay, no problem, its just a couple minutes. 25 minutes later we were sat. We were brought water and silverware. No server came up to us. 10 minutes later the host comes us to us and says she needs us to move so she can sit a bigger party there. We obliged, was a little embarrassing as I was already struggling to move around being on crutches. We get to the next table, there is food spilled all over the floor around the table. It was their pasta dish they bring out to you. I couldn't even get around it so we asked for it to be taken care of. 2 minutes later of us just standing by the table we can't sit at, it was cleaned up. Eventually, like 15 minutes later, a server (possibly manager, not sure) came to us, and said "Do you want drinks or not?". We then ordered our soda's. She came back with them and said "Okay what will you have". We weren't ready yet, still looking.

Food Order We ordered the filet mignon and the lobster tail. When we received it, the Filet was burnt. The sear was just to long and it was literally burnt. My lobster tail was rubber. We waited for 10 minutes or so for someone to finally come near our table. The lobster wasn't edible, but we did consume the Filet due to just being hungry. We cut off the burnt part. I explained the lobster to the person and she said, okay I'll have another made for you. Respectively so, it took about 20 minutes, maybe more for another to be brought. I wasn't offered anything to hold me over nothing. Fine, that's not this restaurants style. When the lobster tail was finally brought out, it was just placed in front of me and the lady ran off. It was also like rubber. Not sure what is going on here. I push it to the side and we wait again for another 15 minutes or so, and I finally get our servers attention and explain is the same as the first. Like rubber.

Ken's on Western's Resolution The server took my 2nd lobster tail and apologized. She then brough us our bill. We were billed for lobster. I literally cried. Never done that before. When she came back so we can pay, we asked her to remove it because I didn't consume it due to being rubbery. she stated "We don't have anyone here who can override this. I don't manage on Monday's so I can't do any overrides. I just have to run your card for the full amount and then my manager will call you in the morning to refund it.". This was 2 weeks ago and we still don't have a call or our refund. This was an $85 charge for something that wasn't edible.

My experience was absolutely awful. I hope this isn't how it is all over Chicago, I was visiting the area, I'm from another state. Anyways, they are a popular spot, it was busy and they have decent reviews. Just don't expect anything to get resolved if they have bad service...

Went here for dinner with a table of 6. We had reservations. We stood in the small entrance way where we had to shuffle around for customers entering and exiting for 35 mins before “our table was ready.” Complimentary bread and cucumbers were brought to the table, but portion size was for a table of maybe 4. When we asked for more so the entire table could have some our waitress told us we would need to pay for it, and we did because we were starving and just waited 35 mins to sit. Why offer anything if it can’t feed the entire table? I then ordered the 10oz filet medium well temperature. When the steak came it was completely blackened and over cooked even for a well done temperature. I informed the waitress the steak was not cooked at the correct temperature and even showed her the inside and said it’s not pink in the middle as medium well should be. She said ok and that they would make me another. When the 2nd steak came out my table was nearly done eating. The waitress said the chef said to cut the steak in the middle to verify the temp was correct. This steak was again completely blackened and so well done I could hardly cut into it with a steak knife. At this point I did not want this steak nor any other so I sent it back and told her I do not want another. Then a woman who I am guessing was a manager as she did not introduce herself came over to say “just so you know, we don’t cook our medium well steaks pink in the middle.” I told her that is fine, but this should be stated to customers because a medium well steak that is not pink in the middle at a restaurant that boasts steaks and chops as a specialty is something I have never encountered before. No one offered a steak at a medium temperature or a replacement meal nothing was offered. The approach from the manager was just to inform me I should have known better. Very disappointing experience all around Between the long wait with a reservation, high prices and extremely overcooked meals. The other orders we had were the chicken piccata that was extremely dry and over cooked, shrimp linguine with tough over cooked shrimp, and chicken parm that was also over cooked to toughness. Our bill was $500 dollars and no one had a plate they enjoyed due to over cooking. Hopefully they are able to rectify this for...

My first time at Ken's and that is only because when I was searching for a steakhouse to take my wife for mother's day, everywhere was booked up and I stumbled across Ken's. I always passes this place through the years and thought they were closed for some reason. We arrived at 7:05 with a reservation for 7:00 and was sat right away. I was expecting it to be packed because I got the last reservation when I reserved but surprisingly it was only 6 other parties there. Ambience is old schoo but inviting. The restaurant itself is small but efficient. We were served pizza bread and pickled sweet peppers that was very tasty. We ordered blackened shrimp for the appetizer and the dish wasn't what I expected. I got more of a barbecue shrimp dish rather than the blackened shrimp. The sauce the shrimp was in was too salty. For entree me and the wife both got the 25 oz ribeye cooked medium with an herb butter sauce and mushrooms. The steak was big and juicy and cooked perfectly. I had mash potatoes and the wife got twice baked. She said the twice baked tasted like it was frozen and not homemade my potatoes was slightly salty. Overall service was great and fast. We got there at 7:05 and was done and out the restaurant with leftovers by 7:45. Price with tip came out to $200. Would I go back, sure but would order a different appetizer and side for entree, but really like the neighborhood feel and...
