Went there with a party of 10. We arrived 1 hour before closing (5pm) on a Saturday night. It was full and the place is tiny so we by the time we were sat down at our table, our server made sure to tell is they were closing in 30 mins. Obviously we felt rushed but we were told by staff not to worry.. I ordered chilaquiles with asada and so did my sister. Server said ok but then came back 10 mins later to notify is that she forgot there was no more steak and we had to choose chicken or chorizo. That was a disappointment.. half of us got our food first while the other half waited 15 more mins. Ill cut them some slack and assume its because of the closing time maybe there was only one cook back there? But ill be honest, the food did not look freshly made except for the fried egg on top. My chilaquiles were SWIMMING in watery green sauce and the whole dish except the egg was very salty. 7 out of 10 of my family members said their food was very salty and almost inedible.. Including my mom, who’s birthday we were there to celebrate. She couldn’t even finish half of her “birthday lunch” and that was with her FORCING herself cause she felt bad to say anything… I ordered nutella banana strawberry crepes and the crepes were chewy.. never had chewy crepes before… but they were edible. The toppings definitely helped! We won’t be back because the food was disappointing and NOT CHEAP. Although if the food had been good I would have felt it was FAIRLY priced… but the staff was nice and they even sang happy birthday to my mom. The place is cute too despite being so small.. maybe their conchas & tamales are better than what we ordered which was mostly chilaquiles, enchiladas, & quesadillas.. but im weary of giving it a try. Check them out...

Just awful. Let me preface that on the surface waiting in a long line even for something you want is never fun but this was ridiculous. The lack of organization, and communication, is unmatched. Waited in line 1.5 hours. At one point the hostess asked if we wanted to sit at the bar or wait for a table I said wait. I could see that multiple tables meant for 4 people only had two people in them and they were about wrapping up so I figured it wouldn’t be that much longer. At this point we’re at the front of the line. All of a sudden they were only seating large parties down. My husband and I waited 40 minutes at the front of the line. Also the bar seating that was offered to us is not a normal size bar. It’s a tiny corner with two wobbly stools where you can’t properly enjoy a meal. I had to ask the hostess what was going on because those tables were previously occupied by parties of 2 but all of a sudden my husband and I have to wait for 1 of the 2 tables that’s meant for 2 people?? She didn’t have an answer. Mind you people outside were just randomly sitting down. It was a mess! We should have been told if we didn’t take the “bar” seats it would be longer because they were going to start sitting large parties. The “bar” seating shortly after wasn’t even an option, because they took stools away. We finally sit down and I have to repeat myself to the waitress about 100 times (I speak fluent Spanish). My chilaquiles were watery and my husband’s order wasn’t made correctly. Very expensive. Did I mention there’s no air conditioning and the toilet doesn’t flush? Insanity....

My mom, my friend and I were waiting in line since 10:40 AM under the hot sun, we were fine since the food looked worth it, once we got closer to getting served, people started skipping the line and the wait got longer with people becoming more hostile. As soon as we got up to the register, it was all unorganized, this lady skipped the line simply because of her excuse of just wanting some coffee and being on her way, another lady stood up saying it wasn’t fair for us since we had been waiting for an hour, we didn’t get involved. The lady that had skipped the line went to the back but one of the waitresses, I suppose was trying to be nice, took her order for her coffees. The lady that had originally “helped us” insulted her to which the other woman didn’t answer to. Once she got her coffees and was about to leave, the lady that insulted her charged over to her and pushed her. She dropped her coffees and bumped into another woman with her baby girl, causing the girl to fall on her head and on top of the hot coffee on the floor, she started crying from the impact and her mom picked her up. They started more commotion with the girl crying, her mom and rest of the family calling the police, we were shaken up from the incident and couldn’t leave until the firefighters came as they were blocking the exit. We never got seated, we couldn’t order food, we left hungry and honestly nerve wrecked from what we saw. They need to get more organization, put up strict seating guides and turn people away if they can’t...

After seeing this place on several platforms on social media, we decided to take the 45 minute drive to try this place. We were very excited to finally have the time to eat some delicious and authentic chilaquiles. We expected the place to be busy but hoping not to stand in line in the 94 degrees weather forecast for that day. We arrived a few minutes before 11:30 am and we had one person in front of us. We were seated outside and were told that the Mr chilaquiles would take around 30 minutes. We ordered them anyway along with regular green chilaquiles and pancakes for our little one. We received our drinks. But the food just wouldn't come. After about 45 minutes of waiting. We asked our server for the food and her reply was "I told you the Mr. Chilaquiles would take a long time" . Yes, but not 45 minutes. She returned after five minutes to bring the pancakes for my daughter and told us the rest of our order was on its way out. We waited another 20 minutes and ended up leaving because we had to pick up our other kids from school. It was very disappointing. I don't think the problem is the food, nor the servers, but the hype that was created by social media made the restaurant busier than it can handle. I hope the owners can find a way to provide faster service to properly accommodate their guests. Also. This place is not on the affordable side. The idea of this place is great. But the execution lacks better preparation. I really hope they can achieve better consistency.

Mr Chilaquil is a must try in Chicago! My family of four got there pretty early morning on a Saturday and it was already packed! We had to wait in line outside for at least 20 minutes but it was worth it. There is outdoor seating and seating along the window inside (narrow table area). This place isn’t the most spacious but it is still clean and comfortable. We sat in a booth. They have hand made fresh tortillas!! The atmosphere is rich in Mexican culture and beautiful smiles. This place is known for their huge concha bread and family size cafecito that is brought to your table by a clapping line of women dressed in a typical Mexican “abuelita” vest singing! This detail alone is worth it all since it makes you feel like you’re having dinner with the sweetest Mexican family. We ordered green and red tortas of chilaquiles with breaded chicken(milanesa de pollo). My mother ordered sopes. The hot mazapán coffee was delicious. The chocomil (chocolate banana shake) was yummy but was mostly foam in a small shake cup. The agua fresca de limón (freshly made lime water) was garnished with an authentic Mexican mango candy and topped with tajin 4/10 for major lack of lime and sugar. The cafecito was 10/10! Our food was a bit pricey compared to other Mexican breakfast spots but makes up for it with the amazing culture and atmosphere.

I recently dined on a Sunday at brunch time with a group of friends, and while I was excited to try the food, the experience was a bit disappointing. We arrived to long wait times and had to wait 30 minutes just to get our drinks, followed by another 40 minutes for our food. Despite this, I want to commend the staff—they were friendly, maintained a positive attitude, and were clearly doing their best to work quickly. We wanted to try the super concha and coffee for the gram (lol) but we realized it was $45. Well worth it when you have a larger group. We passed. When the food finally arrived, it was delicious, but it just wasn’t worth the long wait. I had chilaquiles verdes and they were hot and spicy and served with eggs and beans. It’s clear that the employees are doing everything they can, but the delays seem to be an issue of logistics—whether it’s a matter of needing a bigger kitchen or limiting the number of diners, something needs to change to ensure a better balance for both customers and staff. Overall, I really wanted to enjoy the evening more, but spending so much time waiting took away from the experience, even though my friends and I were making the best of the situation. Maybe I'll try again earlier in the day or on a weekday to have a difference experience.
