Esquina del Sazon is an absolute gem, a hidden treasure that I stumbled upon recently, and I can't rave enough about this place. This Mexican culinary haven is a delightful find that has quickly become a favorite spot. The location is simply charming, located in a cozy corner with a warm, welcoming ambiance. As soon as you step inside, you're enveloped in the warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor is a beautiful blend of traditional and modern, creating a cozy and vibrant setting that makes you feel right at home. But let's talk about the food. Esquina del Sazon serves up some of the most authentic and delicious Mexican dishes I've had the pleasure of trying. And the star of the show is their menudo. If you're a fan of this traditional Mexican dish, you're in for a treat like no other. I have had my fair share of menudo, but Esquina del Sazon's version is in a league of its own. The menudo here is a symphony of flavors and colors, packed with a mouthwatering blend of spices and fresh ingredients. It's a burst of culinary delight in every spoonful. The broth is rich and flavorful, the tripe is perfectly tender, and the accompaniments of onions, cilantro, and lime add a refreshing contrast. I could taste the love and tradition that goes into making this dish. Esquina del Sazon has truly raised the bar when it comes to menudo, and I can confidently say it's the best I've ever tasted. Don't miss the opportunity to savor this culinary masterpiece when you visit. Whether you're a menudo enthusiast or just looking for an incredible dining experience, Esquina del Sazon is a must-visit. If you haven't been here yet, you're truly missing out. Make a visit soon and savor the taste of Mexico right here in chicago. I can't wait to return and explore more...
Read moreThe place appears nice, waitress nice but until I notice items being served to me with the cook/chef hair. My friend and I still tried to make the best of the situation, but when I notice again another piece of hair that had fallen from the sour cream container into my food. I then reported about the curly black hair on my plate to my friend, which my friend went and told manager or cashier about the torta. The waitress or manager came back and ask was things okay, and I still was trying to be nice and support their business and tip.Since I knew the waitress wasn’t at fault, what took matters to be worst for reporting a cook hair to management. When it came time to leave during that whole process the cook came out to empty trash still not wearing hair net or hat while preparing food for customers. My friend also witnessed the cook in action when they reported the hair as well without proper sanitation hair nets. In return the police was called upon me to harass me due to malfunction license stickers since the dmv is not open on Monday. The cook took down information to call cops due to me reporting their unsanitary habits. I just wonder how often this young man cook without the proper procedure of safe-serve. If you want a plate of food with a side of fresh hair then go there, if Not your best bet is to stay home to prepare your own food. They not even worth a photo, but the nice waitress or manager was nice enough to try to rectify the situation as much as her control could maintain. She gave me a taco in replacement of the torta. I still was trying to be nice and purchased a flan, but after the cops was called upon me I will never return again even after I get my new stickers in...
Read moreWe’ve been twice, and loved the first time soso much that we ordered identically the second time. Unfortunately, the nachos de asada were stale as hell. Like the chips had basically gone soft. The bottom part of the huarache was super soggy, though we had a six minute drive home and didn’t have the same issue last time. We took our order to go, so obviously didn’t realize until we’d gotten home. We called and the employee on the phone fought with us, saying yada yada they make the chips fresh and essentially called us liars. “I can’t imagine the chips are stale,” she said. We asked for a refund for the plate, she said she’d give us $4, which isn’t even half of what the nachos cost. When we said we’d prefer a refund for the whole dish and that we understood that sometimes this happens, she said no and hung up.
I cannot stress enough that my partner was calm and respectful on this phone call. I’m the rude one, which is why he handles these situations. And she hung up. So…when the food is fresh, it’s good. But the quality is unreliable so why...
