Pop's Italian Beef & Sausage — Restaurant in Lake Township

Although the food was good, the overall experience was not. My friend and I went to Pops today as it was near our school and figured it would be a good place to get lunch. After we ordered, got our food, and left, we noticed our receipt was wrong. We also missed some of our food. We called back to inform them what happened and the woman on the phone was very nice and helpful - she offered us two solutions; a store credit or we could come back and get the missing food. We chose option two - however, this is where the problem starts. They only gave us the missing fry but did not give us the value back for overcharging our bill. We each got a large meal which was advertised as $5.99 (including a sandwich, large fry, and large drink). I got a spicy chicken sandwich meal which should have only been $5.99 but I was charged $6.70 for the sandwich AND the $5.99 for the meal. My friend got a wrap and also asked for the large meal but was charged al-a-carte. When picking up the missing food, the person who took our order explained that she actually "saved us money" doing it that way because the cost of the wrap, fries, and water (which was $0.25) was cheaper than the $5.99 meal. This is not true. We ended paying close to $28 for two meals and wasn't given anything to compensate for the inconvenience to come back for food we already bought but didn't receive. I have been coming here for many years. I always loved the beef, unfortunately I've had 2 bad experiences in a row. Normally I'd call a place and give them a chance to make it right if there's an issue. Well, I did but it never rang. Phone was off. Anyhow, a few weeks ago I came and got a super beef with provolone cheese. The cheese was old and smelled so bad ... I tried scraping it off but still ended up throwing half the sandwich in the garbage. I called and explained the situation to the girl who answered, telling her the provolone had started turning nasty and they should throw it out. She said sorry about that. No offer to make it right. I let it go. Went back yesterday, ordered another super beef... Ordered with whatever the most popular cheese was (knowing that would be mozzarella) I then added sweet peppers. I drove home and opened up a drenched beef. (Didn't ask for dipped but that would've been okay) There were no peppers and the bread had red sauce on it. I have recently been diagnosed with a bleeding ulcer. I cannot eat pizza or anything with red acidic sauce. I didn't get what I paid for again. I wasn't going to drive up there since I was short on time and "I'm sorry" wasn't going to make me happy. There's plenty of other places nearby for a good beef where they give a damn. Everything that my friend blabbers about this place is true. He recommended and suggested that I try this spot, which I did, and the food was really delicious and definitely one of the best. The location is pretty nice. There is accessible parking everywhere near and in the restaurant. It is a small spot with some outdoor seating, which is nice because when I went there it was quite busy, so I was seated outside. The staff were very welcoming when I came in. Each of them is nice and friendly. They have a huge menu with a variety of options. The prices are fair and reasonable too. I just got myself the highly recommended Italian beef, some fries, and a drink, and the cost of all of it is quite nice. The service was also quick, and the food was served hot and fresh. The portion of the food was great, especially the fries, but it was thinner. Italian beef is very simple to describe. It is so delicious. It has a generous portion of flavorful, fresh, and tasty beef that definitely melts in my mouth. I love it so much and I will definitely order it again and again.
