Windy City Hot Dogs Inc — Restaurant in Lake Township

I was really impressed with this place as it was my first time here. A family member recommended it a few nights ago so I decided to give it a try. I was a bit weary because I've been to other little hot dog stands where the food was inedible. But if you haven't tried this place yet you are missing out! For a small neighborhood hot dog stand these guys knock it out of the park. We ordered 3 meals and WOW!!!! The quality of the food was awesome! They have True Vienna hot dogs (everyone says they have vienna hot dogs but they really don't), they have authentic kronos gyros, great tasting all beef burgers and don't get me started on the fries! To top it off the staff is humble, very customer oriented and nice. Can't wait...

Stopped by for lunch and had an Italian combo with hot giardiniera, pizza puff, and fries. Pizza puff was good. Fries were excellent, golden fried and crispy. The Italian combo was a big let down. Bread was a little dry but that was partially my fault. I like my beef dipped, but I completely forgot to ask for this. The Italian sausage inside was not very good and it did not complement the sandwich as it should, so I decided to take it out. The beef inside was a bit bland. Maybe it would have been a completely different sandwich dipped. If I were to come back, I’d probably try...

Oh boy what can I say about this hidden treasure. I’ve been coming to windy city hot dogs for over 14 years. I used to live right off keeler and 62 st back when I was just a broke 18 year old in my first apartment. Money was tight and this place was my salvation, no lie. The food is what you looking for in a south side hot dog joint, big portions, packed with flavor and affordable lots to choose from. Aside from the great food, what also makes me coming back is the great folks working behind the counter always friendly and welcoming. Love it’s local and family...
