As a descendant of Lithuanians, I have long been fascinated by Lithuanian culture and traditions. Keeping alive the many histories: the early tribes, medieval Lithuania, Vilnius as a Jewish center of scholarship, the Napolean era, the Nazis and the Soviets, and the often tough life Lithuanians faced if they emigrated - this is critical. After 20 years of interest in Lithuania, I was fortunate to be able to visit this important museum, the only one of its kind in North America. I'm grateful to this place for the care and time they have put in to curate this amazing history. The museum is small but the story is big and they hold it well.
