AVOID THIS RESTAURANT AT ALL COSTS.
If I could leave a 0 star review, I would. This previous evening, my roommate and I ordered food from this location through GrubHub. We did this at approximately 11:30 PM (I am, in fact, writing this review at approximately 2 AM), this store claims to close at 3 AM on Saturday/Sunday on GrubHub, here on Google (I've included a screenshot proving it) and their automated phone answering system. At around 12:45 AM the order arrived, missing over half of the food in the order. We tried calling them immediately and they never answered their phone after repeated attempts. After contacting GrubHub we finally found out why; they lied about their hours and were already closing. We also discovered that the missing half of the order was still sitting there in the restaurant and we weren't even allowed to go pick it up because it was 'too close to closing' (Again, this all happened nearly an hour ago as of this writing, they claim they don't close until an hour FROM now). They would not even give a refund until GrubHub threatened to remove them from their listing.
I don't know how this place has such a high rating because they absolutely do not deserve it. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if my review is deleted, quite frankly. But that's fine, I've already reported them to the Better Business Bureau and on Monday I intend to contact the Chamber of Commerce. This is one restaurant in a chain of three and whoever the manager is of this location should be fired because this is such an outrageous level of unprofessionalism.
AVOID THIS RESTAURANT...
Read moreI used to really like this place. We get a delivery pizza about once a week. For the past few weeks, our pizzas have arrived burnt and without the extra cheese we paid an additional $4 for. It's sad. We'll go to Dimo's going forward.
Jan 5th: ordered from here because they are the only place that does gluten free pizza and will deliver. The pizza that arrived was way overcooked and definitely did not include the extra cheese that we paid $4 additional for. I called to ask why it's so hard to give us what we ordered. They replaced the pizza with a new one that did have extra cheese. They are capable of making a good pizza but you have to jump through inordinate hoops to get it.
Jan 12th: I feel like this place weaponizea the fact that they are the only pizza place in the NW that will deliver gluten free pizza. Any way, got a burnt pizza without the extra cheese that I paid for.
Jan 16th: ordered from their Irving Park location. It's difficult to get to for me, but they always prepare the pizza exactly as ordered.
At this point, replies from management regarding this repeated issue are inappropriate. You should address the issue at the store level instead of an empty internet comment.
Mar 29th: ordered from Ravenswood again. I paid for extra cheese but the pizza I received had an inch and a half of crust showing, didn't even cover the toppings, and was definitely not extra in any way. Irving Park can consistently make the pizza as ordered - why...
Read moreThis review is a shout-out to Chicago's Pizza for consistently providing great food at a very reasonable price.
I dine here regularly with a group of friends who enjoy coming here because of the relaxed ambiance and wide variety of options on the menu. There's something for everyone! And then there's the delicious pizza, of course ...
I am furious though, about a mean-spirited review someone posted a week ago, complaining about a delivery driver. As a regular customer at Chicago's Pizza on Montrose, I know this driver well; he's polite and hardworking and treats all his customers with kindness and respect.
According to the driver, what REALLY happened is that this customer called and made it crystal clear -- before the food was delivered and without knowing who the delivery person would be -- that no tip would be given.
Who does that??
Tipping may not be mandatory, but let's face it - there would be no food delivery drivers working ANYWHERE if the majority of customers acted like this.
And...to prove my point, the reviewer rated the food as 5/5, but the service was a 1/5 - yet left a 1-star review. If this person "loved" the food but "hated" the service, why penalize the whole restaurant with a low-star rating?
I worked in food service for many, many years. The motto was "The customer is always right." And that's usually true. But sometimes the...
