I love Fin. This unassuming little neighborhood spot boasts a tastefully decorated outdoor dining area that's perfect for a summer evening dinner with friends. The food is always, always fresh and beautifully prepared - especially the sushi. I live just a couple of blocks away, so their lunch specials are a go-to on my work from home days. Parking is readily available on nearby side streets but be mindful of signs for local permit parking if you're visiting during the day. Otherwise just take the Union Pacific Metra line - the Ravenswood stop is right there! Be sure to check out Fin if you haven't yet! Sept 2019 update: We took my aunt & uncle here for lunch the first Friday of September and it was a huge disappointment. The food came out all at different times with no comment (my uncle, who got his first, had his about 10 min before his wife, who got hers last). The food was also not up to par.The roll we got to share as an appetizer wasn't well assembled and fell apart, our noodle dishes were very greasy - even the edamame was overcooked. I had previously rated this a 5, I knocked off one star but I have to say that this lunch experience was a standalone 2 at best. Hopefully just the staff...

I'm a Fin fan. The location is perfect for me so perhaps I'm biased, but I just love a sushi lunch special that's valid any day of the week. For $13 you get two rolls and cup of miso soup. The best part is that it's available on the weekends and for take out as well. Now they've introduced a loyalty card, where if you get 5 lunch specials, the 6th is free. Woohoo! My only complaint is that I'm about 3 in and they just now introduced the card :(

Their regular rolls are pretty much standard, the Philly, tempura, etc are all good but nothing outstanding. Where they shine for me are the specialty rolls. There are a few very unusual rolls that were so good, my fiance who doesn't even eat sushi very much enjoyed them. The Tom Yum roll sounds better than it's execution. It really does have a Tom Yum flavor to it, but I'll stick with the soup. There was a roll that I can't think of off the top of my head, but it had bacon on it and it was so scrumptious!

It's not super cheap but it isn't unreasonable either and if you are going to dine in, it's BYOB so what you spend in sushi you save in...

I have ordered delivery from Fin a couple of times, and was very impressed with the quality of the food and the very speedy delivery. Then last night I finally visited the restaurant with family and we really enjoyed the experience--attentive staff, intimate setting, same great food beautifully presented.

My personal favorite is the mango maguro roll--it's almost too pretty to eat, and it's delicious! Seriously, it's beautiful and so tasty. The menu also has plenty of variety to accommodate vegetarians (or in my aunt's case, people who have never had sushi and are unsure about the raw fish). We loved the sweet potato tempura roll and the brown rice vegetable roll. The pad thai and bacon fried rice were also very good (although not the best I've had). I am also a huge fan of the...

Wowee is this place a delight! My wife and I went here for dinner shortly after they reopened for evening service. The staff is very kind, helpful, and attentive. The food is absolutely delicious! We both ordered soup for an appetizer, then moved onto a roll each, and then shared the spicy basil dish. The preparation of the dishes was very quick and were easily satiated with the portions presented. The inside seating is warm and elegant and the outdoor seating is pleasant enough, even by the street. I would highly recommend it if you're in the mood for sushi and other Asian inspired meals!

This is a 9 out of 10 for a sushi place. It has the best sushi in Chicago it’s BYOB and there is a great liquor store a few blocks down with sake if you want to stay authentic. The first time there ask the staff for a recommendation I got the “Red Spider” it was amazing. I went back once a week for like 2 months and I live in the suburbs. And the only reason it doesn’t get a 10 is I will be going to Japan and when I do I will re-rate it but for now I will just enjoy. Ps: Enter Sake black dot is a great starter sake:)

If you are looking for reasonably priced sushi with large portions Fin Sushi Bar should be next on your list. Ordered a variety of rolls and cucumber seaweed salad. Many traditional rolls combined with unique speciality rolls. Loved the plantain roll. Service was super attentive and friendly. Found a table without making a reservation which was nice. BYOB was a nice touch. Overall a great experience and will definitely come back.
