KOVAL Tasting Room — Restaurant in Lake View Township

We hosted our wedding reception at Koval October 2025, and I cannot say enough good things or recommend it highly enough!! It was better than I ever could have imagined, and it’s in large part due to the people and culture of the team at Koval.

Mark, Mitch, and the entire bartending team are absolutely top-tier. I would host every single event here if I had more reasons to throw parties. :)

They prepared special menus for our day without us asking, and surprised us with an incredible guestbook souvenir on our wedding day.

Overall, the vibe was exactly what we wanted, and the curated aesthetic inside Koval is beautiful by itself, so we didn’t need to add many decorations at all. For the decorations we did have, the Koval staff got there early before our reception started and set everything up.

All night, we got endless compliments: “these are the best bartenders”, “this is the coolest venue”, “the best cocktails (and selection to choose from) at a wedding ever”.

The weather was perfect so we used the outdoor beer garden and made a huge dance floor inside. Even the bartenders got in on the fun and were dancing behind the bar!! :)

Been a fan of Koval Bourbon for a few years now. In my most recent visit to Chicago I made it a point to visit Koval in person. We arrived around 5pm on Saturday evening to a mostly full house. We were able to grab a few seats at the bar when another couple left. Megan was our bar tender and she was knowledgeable fun and very attentive. She gave great advice on drinks and pours to which made the experience for non whiskey drinking even better. The atmosphere is welcoming and not overly full. It was loud but not to the point you couldn't hear the person next to you. The gift shop had plenty of branded Koval stuff to choose from, with not being overly tacky. They were out of a few things to include a shirt I liked. But that's okay, maybe next time. Over all great experience, didn't have any food so I can't rate that, but we will return. Maybe to do a...

OMG what a hidden gem!! I've been here twice in the past two weeks. The first time to celebrate my friend's birthday. My friend and I did the distillery tour and it was so fun, more interesting that I had imagined. We then sat at the bar and had the most delicious craft cocktails made by Megan.

I'm now obsessed with Megan she is such an incredible mixologist. I was in search for the perfect old Fashioned (not many bartenders make good ones), Megan did not disappoint. Megan created some incredible cocktails and I will only be served by her now. I am forever spoiled.

Yesterday I brought my husband because he loves old Fashioneds as much as I do and he too was impressed by the skills and knowledge Megan offers. Koval is such a cool space with incredibly complex/delicious drinks. I can't wait for...
