Finally a pizza place that isn't afraid to add some flavor to their pizza!...and can make a thin crust crisp that can hold the ingredients and not get soggy and floppy. Stopped in while visiting Chicago based on a friends recommendation after an early play w/ 12 of us. Wife liked the artichoke dip, artichokes aren't my thing, we all loved the baked goat cheese marinara and the basil pesto flatbread.
The Diavolo pizza was awesome...crisp crust, hearty topping and just the right amount of heat from the sopressata. If spice isn't your thing the Margherita was nice and fresh tasting...one of my kids even liked it better than the cheese pizza...which is saying a lot! The kids also liked watching the pizza dough being tossed and put in the oven.
Atmosphere-wise it is solid...brick loft like walls, nice bar, you can see the brick oven and our group sat by the front window which was open to the street (Belmont). Only thing missing was dessert, but with 3 kids we rarely order dessert out anymore....plus restaurant portions are usually so big we don't have room anyway. Really enjoyed the pizza, with all the pizza joints around you would think it would but easy to find good pizza, but most are just average, this one is...

Within a few minutes of this review, they reached out to us to express their apologies for the way the night went. They were short staffed, Valentine’s Day, along with bad weather, made for a difficult night. The pizza that we ordered was not hot and needed to be reheated, it was still excellent. The fact that they immediately called to take care of the issue was amazing.
Unreal, I ordered our pizza at 607 with an estimated delivery time of 722. I called at 737 and they told me it just left to be delivered. They arrived to deliver the pizza at 830 and the driver put the COLD pizza on the step and ran. We attempted to call the location and we were welcomed with a busy signal. I can understand that deliveries will be delayed due to Valentine’s Day and the snow, but I ordered with plenty of time. I didn’t just order a $20 pizza, my total was 118.61 with tip and delivery. Not happy at all, and I would recommend that no one order from this place if they want it delivered within a timely manner and communication. First time and last...
Read moreWe went while we were in town last week. We positively loved it. We had a margherita pie, a sweet heat pie and split an arugula salad. Plus, we had some solid cocktails from the bar (they are only $5 on Thursdays!!).
The crust on the pizza was the most memorable thing for us. It's a perfect balance between Neapolitan airiness / char and New York structure / chew. I crave it just thinking about it. The tomato sauce was bright and fresh. Plus, they use Grande' mozzarella from WI which shows a commitment to quality.
The "large" salad was big enough to split 3 ways (but we still found a way to finish it). The dressing on the salad was nicely balanced (lemon, oil, salt, cheese). I wish it was a "tossed salad" and not "dressing on the side" but I say that at nearly every restaurant.
The second most memorable thing about it: the service. Everyone we dealt with was professional, skilled, friendly and energetic.
If we lived in the area, we would be regulars here....
