It's not great, but it's not awful... This dog friendly area is built like an 'L' around the corner of the tennis courts, so if your dog runs to the other side, you won't be able to see them. The ground is not cement (which is what's common for Chicago Park District dog areas) but instead a mix of soil and woodchips. That's great for their joints if it's dry, but I went after a rainy day and obviously, it was muddy. The fences are not too tall, so if you have a dog who can jump a 4 foot fence, be careful! There is no water fountain, so bring your own bowl - there's a water fountain a short walk away for the rest of the park.
While this review might sound negative, you have to remember this is a dog friendly AREA not a dog PARK, so if you're looking for the fancy amenities, you won't find them! If you just need a place for your dog to meet other dogs and run around a bit, then this...
Read moreVery nice park with recently updated playground equipment. The baseball fields are in immaculate condition but are very hard to get on because they are always be used by the little league or softball teams. The fieldhouse is large with two different basketball courts. There is a workout room that has plenty of weights and exercise machines for all. There is a large locker room that leads to the outdoor pool. The pool are is pretty large for Chicago neighborhood park but the pool itself is not very large and it gets very crowded during summer. There is also camps during summer which restrict the use of the pool...
Read moreI LOVE this park, this is the place where I have played baseball at for my entire childhood. The fields are always in pristine condition when it comes to game time. When it’s a rainy day, the park does it’s best to make the fields dry enough to play on by filling wet spots with dry sand. The playground here is very fun and I used to play in it when I was younger and it was so much fun. Overall, this park is amazing and it will always hold a special place in my heart, I recommend this place to anyone, looking for a youth baseball league, or just taking their kids here to...
