Mimi’s Bakery — Restaurant in Lake Wales

Came in today to grab a sour dough loaf, saw how big they are, for only $7, I grabbed two! My only regret was not asking them to pre slice it before leaving as my knives are home weren't too good at getting the job done lol but these loaves are huge! 10-12" in circumference. Can't beat the price!

I decided to grab a few more treats for my kids and husband to enjoy over the weekend. We grabbed 2 chocolate cupcakes, an iced lemon loaf, a massive croissant and a blueberry muffin.

I'm pretty sure their blueberry muffins have just become my next fiaxtion. Something about the buttery streusel on top just calls to me! At least I think that's what is on top? Either way, it's perfection!

The kids loved the cupcakes, I took a small bite to taste and picked up on a subtle coffee flavor which is a great addition to chocolate cake! Worked really well. I always add some coffee or espresso powder to my chocolate cakes and cookies. Kids didn't notice it and they were devoured within seconds. I do think they'd be best enjoyed at room temp, but for cold case cupcakes, they were still pretty soft and moist, which was impressive.

The croissant wasn't a planned purchase, but when I came in and saw a croissant the size of my 6 year old's head I just had to try one! We just came back from Paris a few weeks ago and this croissant was just as good as our favorite finds in the city of light. I also wasn't planning on eating it right away, but the smell was too irresistible right out of the bag. I had to fight off two fiens just to enjoy it and am now forced to buy everyone a croissant next time I stop in, which is fair. They are that good!

As for the lemon loaf, we haven't tried that yet, but I'm hopeful with how good everything else has been!

The staff was friendly and answered all of my questions. I will be back routinely for some more sourdough loaves! I look forward to seeing you guys grow and become a part of downtown Lake Wales....

Mimi’s is such an absolute gem. From the warm and inviting atmosphere to the super friendly and attentive service, every aspect of our visit was delightful. We ordered two ham and cheese croissants and the gentleman at the counter was so kind as to heat them up for us so we could eat them in-house. We also ordered a cheese danish, which was delicious and perfectly flaky with a hint of lemon; a small cake, and a loaf of italian bread to bring home. What's even more impressive is the reasonable pricing for such high-quality treats. This bakery is sure to become a beloved local fixture and is the perfect addition to Lake Wales.
