Lucky7 Deli — Restaurant in Lakehurst

I was tasked with supplying the subs for SuperBowl Sunday and the place that I had used for the last 2 years had changed hands and was getting bad reviews on Yelp so I went looking for a new place. I came across this Lucky 7 in Yelp and decided to take a ride down the road and ordered two subs to test taste prior to committing to a order for SuperBowl.

My 'half' sub had twice the meat that I would normally get at Jersey Mike's... and the roll was great! My husband ordered a Tuna Fish sub and I had an Italian sub. My husband is picky about his tuna fish - and he thought that this was one of the best subs he has had in years!

So 2 days later I went back and placed my order for the subs I needed. I dealt with Christine (cashier) who was SUPER!!! She listened to what I needed - and wanted - and took my order. She also introduced me to Paul (store manager) who was extremely pleasant and gracious.

I arrived on SuperBowl Sunday at the 4pm time that I stated I would pick the order up. The deli counter was very busy but Christine got my order from the walk-in fridge. I ordered half a roast beef, half a tuna fish, 2 whole Italians and one whole turkey sub - with lettuce on them only - and all the rest of the stuff on the side (to keep the subs dry - and so that everyone could customize their own sub to their liking). The subs were all cuts into 2" party size pieces (as requested) and placed in a full size aluminum tray for easy transport.

The party guests who ate the subs all commented that the subs were delicious and that they had a lot of meat (Boar's Head) on them. Surprisingly - the tuna fish sub was the first to go! Not one person I checked with had any negative or constructive criticisms to make about the subs, the provided sides, or the size of each piece. Several said that they went back for seconds. Those who didn't go back for seconds stated that since there was a large variety of other foods to eat, that they wanted to sample other things but that they would have had seconds if the selection wasn't as large.

This deli order was a WINNER!! This is definitely a place that I will order subs from again whether for my own consumption or for a party, etc. If you read this and decide to try the place out (like I did) - see Christine (or Paul) - and let them know you heard about them from me.

I received a breakfast sandwich with hair stuck in the bacon, when I called the location they told me "I was lying" and there was "Nothing they could do about it". I asked if they could remake it if I brought it in and showed the hair. They continued telling me after seeing it that I put the hair in the sandwich. When I started it came like that and I would just want a new sandwich they began yelling at me and being very unprofessional. As I was walking out the lady at the cashier decided to continue telling me I put the hair in the sandwich. They were very rude, very unprofessional, very nasty attitude and atmosphere. I WILL NOT BE BACK AND I DON'T...

Ordered a large lobster bisque and half of a bacon chicken cheesesteak with fried onions and mushrooms. After I paid and the sandwich was complete, I was informed that they didn't have lobster bisque. I changed it to tomato basil. I was handed a small container and told that it was a large even though it was the smaller of two containers displayed. I was told the larger container was more money and they are out of the small size soup container. There was only large and small for soup size option on the screen.... There was lack of chicken in sandwich. Gave 2 stars instead of 1 because my friends cold hoagie was well made. 5 stars...
