COSTILLA GRILL MEXICAN RESTAURANT — Restaurant in Lakeland

I cant say too much about the environment since I was the only customer at the time. I went there around 730pm and was surprised it was dead. I was promptly greeted which was good and something I look for. They had what looked like a bar but was not. It seems they only serve beer which was highly priced so I skipped on that. The menu was not too overwhelming however I really wanted birria but they didn't have it. I'd reccomend they add it to the menu also drinks. There aren't many Mexican restaurants I've been to that didn't at least have margaritas. On to the food I ordered a steak burrito which was excellent in size but lacked flavor I had a side 2 street chicken tacos which were also bland. I ordered my wife a chicken parrillada which was the same as mine. I'm not sure if it was an off night or because it was slow so overall it was ok. Maybe I'll give it another try when they have a larger...

We had a really great experience at first in this place the owner would give us lots of food for a far price when she not there the other employee that was there would charge us more and gives us less for for the papa loca I’m super disappointed in this place I really love spending my money in this place but I don’t want to spend my money or have anybody else do so the service was at 100% now it’s at 0% I give this place a 0 star. The place is filthy the roof has mold this is a safety issue the city needs to get involved this isn’t right … you don’t ran a restaurant like this…. If your gonna over charge have the service be at 100% I keep on seeing the comments from the owners are rude and don’t have any self respect or honor when running a restaurant this sicken me to my stomach I would rather eat anywhere...

Wednesday at 130pm. Music was super loud. Tables were dirty. Coke in bottles, Styrofoam cups with ice, no lid nor straws. I think they should invest in fountain machine or get a better delivery company so they have soda on tap. Chips with green salsa type dip. Chips were cold and hard. Green salsa dip, a little spicy and strange. Ordered white queso for chips instead, but nothing could help those cold hard chips. They were out of steak so I ordered a chicken burrito with white queso, expected a light drizzle of it, but it was drowning in it. Huge portion though. Burrito was delicious so they got that right. Noticed a large black mold spot on the ceiling and mold spot on menu. This should have been cleaned or tile replaced. Price was good for...
