If you buy food items in the store check your receipt. Most food items are not taxable. But they taxed everything I purchased. When I went back to ask they just said it was an accident they forgot to click the button but they were smirking they kept saying it had to do with my form of payment but that still made no sense since non of the 3 items I picked soup, juice & sauce could ever be considered a taxable item at all. Especially when non were from the restaurant. I thought maybe the juice but when I added my purchase I noticed they had taxed all of it. Sad that most of their customers are their own people and that's who they are taking advantage of cause anyone else would know the law and notice. And they gave me back 61cents. As if I was worried about that. I was just mad that they are doing that to begin with.

The food taste really good and you can tell that it is well made but the staff are not the friendliest, it depends on who you talk to. There is an immense miscommunication with prices. I usually buy a strawberry smoothie in the back where they sell ice cream and fruity things. When I go to the register to pay for the smoothies they had a different price and none of them knew what we even had. We had to explain that we had strawberry smoothies and the price was 2.99. They wanted to charge us 4 dollars more for the smoothies. All the cashiers had different prices and it was a hot mess. The restaurant as I said in the beginning is a great and appetizing place and the food is delicious. The staff just need to work on their kindness and communication with each other.

I'm from originally from southern California. Mexican food is normally a hit and miss in Florida. However, the Mega Mercado brings me back to home. The food is reasonably priced and delicious. Fresh tortilla chips and salsa are brought to your table when you arrive. And you can order a number of different aguas frescas / beverages. I usually order tacos de carne asada but I have tried the tortas, sopes, chimichanga, tostadas, campechana, tacos birria, flautas, menudo, etc. Needless to say this place does not disappoint. I have read ppl complain about the service but I've never had issues. If you come during the rush hour, expect to wait.....but it's worth it.

*This star rating is not for their food but for their service.

I made a phone call to Mega Mercado on 1/1/25 for a to-go order. The order that I placed was for a total of 4lbs of their cooked meat nothing more. Server took my name and number and quoted me 20 minutes. I live in the Tampa/Brandon area, so it will take me more than 20 minutes to get there. Got to the restaurant, server told me my order was not ready, okay no worries. Waited 30 minutes, everyone who's order was taken after me got their food even uber orders were completed. Why is mines taking this long, IT'S ONLY MEAT. Come to find out there order was never written down. My food was never made. I waited 30 minutes to find out my 4lbs of just meat was never written down no one could find it. It's literally just meat in a to-go container! When i asked why, no one could answer and no one could get me a manager to talk to. The person the server grab did nothing but just nod his head and left when I explained the situation and that they need compensate for my time waiting and forgetting to put my order in. It's their servers fault for not putting my order in when I called well over and hour ago. As for compensation, I got 2 small container of salsa. How are you going to give me 2 things of salsa as compensation with salsa that already comes as a side with my meat? How does that make sense?

My family and I always go to Mega Mercado to buy pounds of your meat for dinner functions and this was beyond the worst customer service I have ever received from...

When I first moved to Florida this was the first Mexican restaurant I found out about in the lakeland area. Since I'm always in the mood for tacos de lengua, I gave it a try. However, it seemed that each time I went, the service never got any better. Tacos were good. I love tacos de lengua and didn't know of any other place to go to at the time, so I would go already in mind knowing that the service is just going to suck. And yes, it did every time. The last straw for me was when I went with my mom and I ordered my favorite tacos again, I took a bite out of my taco and felt a string in my teeth, yes, it was hair, I called the waitress over and they brought me another taco. I was honestly so grossed out that I didn't even want to eat it. I asked the waitress to take it back. On the bill I was still being charged, I understand that that was the price of the meal, but I thought maybe they would have the courtesy of giving me some sort of a discount. I wasn't asking for a free meal. The waitress told me that because I took a bite from the taco with a hair in it, I was being charged. The owner told me not to comeback if it's such a problem for me....excuse me??? . Now if I go there, I go for my usual candies And horchata. I just can't eat there anymore knowing that I was chewing on...

We go here sometimes , but today we had a phone order for 20 tacos . I asked for 10 chorizo and 10 pastor and wanted the onions grilled instead of raw. When we got there to pick up my order it came to 40+ dollars and i looked at the register screen and asked what is the $5 dollar extra fee for? The lady said for grilled onions. . I asked if my order was started already and it wasn’t so I said cancel the onions and she did. When I got home and opened it up it had chopped raw onions on all the tacos.? I really didn’t mind the raw onions but can’t figure out what you people are thinking for charging 5 bucks to grill a ingredient that already comes on the taco for said price . You grilled the meat anyway didn’t you? Sure ,it’s your right to charge as you decide but you do need to notify the consumer first . I decided to knowingly pay more for tacos from you then most other taco carts but I decided to anyway. I didn’t know it cost 5 bucks more to grill the chopped onions. This charge is definitely new as I have got these tacos many times in the last few years. Inflation I suppose has affected the...
