Lake Miriam Chinese Kitchen — Restaurant in Lakeland

Formerly inside Publix. This was our first time eating here. We chose takeout so we could eat during the race. The building face is being redone, so entrance is behind a protective wall. It looks like they haven't finished decorating inside yet. There are a lot of tables if you want to eat in store. Staff is friendly and smiling. The food pans are shallow, so they are continually adding fresh cooked food to the line to choose from. Since we got it early it was placed in the fridge for a few hours before we reheated it. The #1 meal was plenty for each of us it came with 1 entree, rice or lo mein, and an egg roll. I didn't get extra sauce on the bourbon chicken, and lo mein, it had really good flavor . may have even been better had I eaten it fresh. The sweet and sour chicken had a lot more sauce than expected (we were able to sample it before purchasing it.) My husband said the fried rice was best he has had in a long time. We always wanted to give this place a try while they were housed at the Lake Miriam Publix, but never got around to it. We were so stuck on Mei Weis Buffet in north lakeland. Since they've closed down, we've definitely been on a go-to hunt! This place has knocked every other place we have tried out of the waters! When you first walk in, it's so welcoming! We were immediately greeted with a hello and a smile! The employees were very friendly and actually interacted with us! We don't experience that very often these days! The food was delicious, we got the general chicken, sweet and sour chicken and the bourbon chicken, along with the lo mein. Would get all of them again! The crab ragoons were delish! The first time I went in after they opened their own building it was just as good as it was when they were in Publix. Every time I've been since the quality has gone down. I may give it another go in the future but, if the quality doesn't get better I'll stop going to them. Today they didn't have all the entrees out and instead of making a pan of what was asked for he only made enough for one meal so when I asked for the same thing he had to make another serving.
