So as a restaurant consultant, I often feel that in a lot of restaurants customer service is not top of the list. The advertisement for Wendy's says fresh but almost every time I go to one of their stores their fries are cold and the burger was kind of dry and cool. When I was a manager and somebody had cold french fries, I made them a fresh sandwich to go with their fresh french fries. Number one that shows that you care about that customer and the money that they are spending in your establishment. I did not give them hot french fries with a cold burger that's been sitting on the tray getting cold for over 4 minutes while the fries cooked. That is not the definition of fresh. I did not want to complain because I know what some places do when you send food back so I ate it because I was hungry, but the burger was unsatisfactory. The fries were hot though. One of the major problems with big corporate restaurants is quality and customer service is not at the top of the list because it is hard to find good help nowadays. Training is the key to winning in the food service business. But first and foremost managers make or break a restaurant. And the manager here was slouching and leaning up against the fry machine while his store around him was completely dirty and not in order. As a former restaurant manager that is definitely not the way that a restaurant should be managed. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful though I will give them that. Read moreI placed a mobile order through the Wendy’s app for two bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit sandwiches and one sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit combo. However, when I received my order, it was incorrect. I was given two sausage and one bacon sandwich.
When I informed Jeannine at the drive-thru window, she asked me to pull forward due to a car behind me. I explained that the order was incorrect and offered to return one of the sausage sandwiches in exchange for the missing bacon one. Instead, she asked for the entire order back. I asked why, and she responded, “Because I want to see where we went wrong,” which felt unnecessary given the situation. When I reiterated that I simply wanted the incorrect sandwich swapped out, she refused and again told me to pull forward. Her tone shifted and became noticeably rude.
At that point, I chose to drive off to drop my children at summer camp, but returned shortly afterward to speak with a manager. I found out that Jeannine is not a manager and lied and that Denise is. When I was explaining what happened inside the store, I saw Jeannine laughing at the window, which felt incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful.
I requested a refund due to the poor service and the mishandled order. While Denise offered a complimentary order if I returned the next day, I left feeling very disappointed. I usually ALWAYS order online and pick up at drive thru, because Drive thru can NEVER HEAR ME or anything i say, idk why but its a problem everywhere, so i just order online to prevent any issues, however,I couldn't this time! So, I ordered one 4 for 4 plain burger with sweet n sour sauce with fruit punch, and 2 chicken sandwich biggie bags both with sweet n sour sauce and all 3 meals with a large fry, one water and one dr pepper. I had to repeat it twice, I expected, however I could feel the drive thru worker being irritated, rushed and felt Like I was bothering them. Got to the window, what I felt through the speaker when I ordered was confirmed by the negative energy coming from both ladies. I needed extra sweet and sour sauce and ketchup, if it wasn't for my kids I would have never requested it. I kept apologizing, which I shouldn't have to feel that way, especially when it's Wendy's which serves food and that's all I was doing!
