Buona — Restaurant in Lakemoor

So dang good! I've had buona 4 times in my life, once the day my grandson was born and 3 times in the last month since the lakemoor location has opened. I can't get enough. Pasta, delicious! Beef's, delicious! Beef bites, most delicious ball of food I've ever had! Salads? So many choices and ALL OF THEM are always fresh, potato salad tastes like my grandmother's!, so good and thank you for the memories it brings back! Cannoli's are again, so fresh and so good, better get 4 cause your gonna crave another for your late night snack!! And RAINBOW CONE! I've heard of these amazing concoctions for the past 20 or so years of living near Chicago and I've seen them on WGNTV but I've never had one. My husband and I came by the other night and he had the wild berry sorbet and I had the original RAINBOW CONE. It is the best flavors mixed together perfectly! This is my new favorite! I'm so impressed with all the options they have for most diets and reasonably priced, my favorite new restaurant in this area. I almost forgot the service! So helpful, so nice, hard working (especially during peak times, they hustle!) Just remember, they cook as you order so you may have to remember how to be patient, kind and you'll experience delicious, fresh, homemade...

It has been awhile since I stepped into a Buona Beef! I was pleasantly surprised at the atmosphere and the cleanliness of the place. I did not feel like I was walking into a fast-food restaurant. I will say that the gentleman at the cash register with the name tag Prokopios V. was one of the best front end first contact interactions I have had in a long time. I felt he was not just an employee, but was striving for something above and beyond that customer/employee interaction. I thought he was the owner/manager the way he handled the register and interaction. Then, like in a fine dining establishment, as he walked by he asked us how our meal was! What is this Gibson's Steakhouse? 15 minutes later or so he came back and cleaned up our mess. Each time he passed by us, he was on a mission to clean or wipe down something in the restaurant. Before we left, we had a brief interaction where we shared some similar life experiences, which is nice from a human standpoint, definitely a departure from the was society has been going.. He did say that he was NOT the owner :) BUT, the owners were great people to work for.. we all went on our way, but I felt it was worth taking the time to share this because the world needs more...

I have been here various times and the wait is a bit longer than most other Buonas, but as I'm used to it I know what to expect. This time however, not only was the wait time longer (about 15-20minutes),but the order given to me was wrong...TWICE!

I went there this evening (Wednesday) and placed my order (1 meal).I saw about 5 cars that were behind me, get their orders first. They finally bring me my order and I left (probably should have checked 1st, so I will take partial fault for that one). When I got home I realized the salad given to me was not the right one. I drove back and told them and also gave them the receipt on the bag, the one that was also given to me,my order number,AND the actual salad. They told to go around and they'd bring me the correct salad. After a few minutes, they came out, gave me a coupon for a beef,and my "order". When I opened the bag it was the same salad I just gave back to them!!! To say I was annoyed is an understatement. So, I had to wait again,until they finally brought me the correct one.

I'm not sure what is going on in the last month or so, but the service has declined...
