One of the worst meals I've ever had I think. The menu reads high class, quality, local, fresh, but the food came out anything but that. My fiancé and I were checking out the area and this looked like the nicest restaurant open on Sunday. Everything on the menu sounded so good, we decided to order a few things. We started with the artichoke hearts, meatballs, and French onion soup. The artichoke hearts were bland and room temp, even though they were fried. And the sauce with them was overpowering taste of raw garlic. The meatballs were also room temp and extremely dry. The soup had coagulated cheese on top and was actually cold underneath. It tasted and looked like they made it from a dry soup seasoning packet. No flavor, no care. Then our mains came out, at this point we were getting worried, but paying $30-$45 an entrée, we were hoping they'd be more acceptable. Wrong. I got the Korean short ribs. The most expensive protein option for some reason, and there was about 2 bites of meat on the 2 measly pieces I got. It was ALL fat and it tasted off. It was also not hot. We both had rice and veggies on our plates. The rice was a weird flavor and half of it was crunchy/undercooked. The veggies tasted like they were cooked/slathered in Country Crock or some very cheap margarine. My fiancé's chicken was the only thing that came out hot and edible. Such a disappointment and HUGE waste of money. The atmosphere is nice, but my goodness. It was so empty, I dont know why all of our was cold. I think someone had ChatGPT write up their menu to sound fancy, because whoever is in the kitchen doesn't know what they're doing or just doesn't care. You couldn't pay me to eat here again. Joy, our server was the only redeeming experience here....
Read moreThis has got to be the worst dining experience I've had in a very long time. I'm usually not overly critical when I go to a restaurant, but when I order a piece of meat medium rare and it comes out well, and the waitress has no idea what went wrong well that's a point off.
The next point off is because the waitress had no idea what I meant by medium rare. And then the next point is my companion ordered the side of bacon cheese fries at 6 bucks that showed up cold.
The next Point comes off because when I asked if we could get some bread, the waitress said sure, and 20 minutes later after the food was delivered the bread showed up. We ordered the bread only because the meal was taking so long. She didn't tell us that it would cost $6, nor did she warn us that it would take another 20 minutes to bake the bread.
At this point they're down to two stars for me. And then the last star I take off is because the chef came out, who apparently is the only person that can fill out the bill and told us all the problems with our order and how we were at fault but never listened to our issues.
At the end of his spiel he finished with you ate the food you need to pay for it. Granted they did deduct the overcooked meat and the bread, but disregarded my...
Read moreWe have lived here in Lake county for 17 years and had high hopes in finding a good restaurant, which is sorely lacking here. The service was excellent, as a waitperson Ashley was terrific. The food left something to be desired. The ahi appetizer was crunchy and had good flavor, but the chopped up bits of ahi were fishy and seemed old. We had hoped for a small piece of grilled ahi on the bite. The salmon entree was decent and flavorful, just a bit dry on the edges. The accompanying rice and veggies just fine. The shrimp Portofino was seriously lacking in flavor. I asked for more Pecorino, it didn’t help much. Some roasted mushrooms, and or a bit of garlic and court bouillon might have added some depth of flavor. I didn’t taste much of any lemon. My side of string beans were perfect.
The tiramisu was good, but didn’t need all that sugary chocolate on the bottom.
We tried quite a bit of wine. After all it was a birthday celebration. The Chardonnay was good, but my favorite was the Sottomarino Dolcetto, excellent! We appreciated all the wine choices, and will come back to give the food...
