This place used to be great. I try to always come here whenever I get to visit Lakeport. I even brought my visiting mother and family here one time. But my most recent experience makes me not want to come back. We went here on Labor day for lunch. It had a very strategic location in such a way after you stroll by the lake and the park, you can come here and eat since it is so close by. It was pretty busy, plenty of guests because it’s a holiday. And they were staffed well. We went in, a server literally just walked past us and didn’t even say a word. No acknowledgement or greeting at all. We were still waiting for the host to seat us and the same server walked past us again, and did absolutely nothing. That already left a distaste on us. The host came and greeted us. This was the only greeting we got during the entire 75 mins of stay in the restaurant. We say down and waited about 10 minutes until somebody came to take our orders. The lady was obviously just doing her job. Taking orders, nothing more nothing less. She also seemed in a rush. And then we waited and waited and waited. No one’s asked us if we need anything or even a fake smile from servers. It took about 45 minutes for a 2 meals and a kid pizza to arrive. The pizza was not even hot. We ate our meal and no one even even came and ask if everything’s good, if we need anything else, do we want some desserts, or do we want more water. This is the expectation when you come to a decent restaurant. But neither any of this happened. It made the atmosphere very undesirable we really just wanted to finish our meals, pay, and leave. And thats what we did. It was unbelievable. I work in customer care as well and it is easy to see and tell if someone enjoys what they do. I don’t think neither any of the staff that day liked what they do. It was just very depressing because you try to support local businesses but then if the service is like that, it is unlikely that customers will come back. Food was ok. Portions can be improved especially if you are asking $20++ on a cup-worth of pasta. This is another reason why customer service is a must. The experience we had was not worth what we paid for. You can serve a bland meal and still get a huge tip if you were able to provide an excellent...
Read moreI took my mom out for Mother’s Day brunch today at Park Place.
BIG MISTAKE…
We arrived at 12:30 with an appetite. We introduced ourselves to the hostess and asked for a table she wrote my name down. We ordered a drink while we waited for our name to be called, there were plenty of open tables. We were never called. We noticed numerous groups were sat down.
We followed up and asked if f we may sit at a table yet. The hostess checked what section and we were seated in the first booth. Nobody checked on us, offered a menu, or anything. We had to flag somebody down to ask for a menu. More people were seated, served, and left before our order was taken.
Finally, after asking about four ladies we were able to order food. We asked for breakfast options but we were told they were no longer serving brunch. It was 2:00. Other tables were being served omelette and chicken with waffles. My mom ordered a chicken melt sandwich with no aioli sauce and I ordered the fettuccine.
A woman that arrived after us came in from the patio and voiced similar concerns visibly upset. A brunette middle aged employee got confrontational and raised her voice telling them to go back and sit outside and she’d be there in a minute because they were busy. Their orders were taken and food was brought out before ours arrived, despite our order being placed beforehand.
Fast forward- my mom asks and another server brings out our food. Her chicken sandwich arrives lukewarm clearly had aioli on it that was wiped off. My fettuccine arrives afterward without the garlic bread it comes with on the menu. I start eating, my mom asks politely for my garlic bread. They bring it ten minutes later. At this point nobody has even offered my mother and I a glass of water.
We finish our food and our waitress shows up and asks if we want dessert. We decline and she hands us the check. $76 for two drinks and a half-a*s lunch with literally the worst service I’ve ever experienced eating out in my lifetime.
I was so disappointed that I came here with my mom after hearing from multiple people how good this restaurant’s food and reputation was. We just wanted a low-key yummy brunch.
I’ve been treated better at a fast food joint where food...
Read moreWe had a real bad experience at this restaurant last Friday. We were visiting Lake county wine country from out of State & stopped by the restaurant for lunch on August 26th. The restaurant looks nice but the serving staff is nowhere close to the mark. We opted to sit inside rather than the patio & asked for a table close to the window for the lake view. There were 3 open tables close to windows but the hostess refused to sit us down on those tables as we were a party of two & the tables were for 4. This was around 1 PM, but the hostess insisted they will get busier so have to save tables for parties of 4. Those tables went unoccupied all the time we were there. Anyways, the worst was till to come. We took the table she gave us right next to the entrance & cashiers desk. As we sat down I noticed the table was not clean, I pointed it out to the hostess but she insisted it was clean. We were visiting from out of state so I did not want to make a fuss, so I cleaned the table myself with the napkin’s she gave us with silverware right in front of her. She did not flinch or offer to clean it again. No support whatsoever. At this point we should have walked out, but we stayed. Big mistake. We ordered our food from their daily special menu & a local draft beer. By the time I got back to hotel room, I got diarrhea & was sick all that evening. Never again to a place where waiting staff is giving me hints to...
