Five Guys — Restaurant in Lakeside

I visited the Gaskin Rd & West Broad DSW store because it was close to where I work but they didn't have my size in the shoe I wanted. I asked the sales clerk to call the Willow Lawn store to see if they had the shoe in my size and was told that they did. So I travelled to the store even though I was short on time. When I arrived they had the shoes behind the register and I proceeded with the purchase. My mistake was in not examining the shoes before I purchased them but I was in a hurry. Once I took the shoes out of the box to show my niece we both realized the shoes had been previously worn and returned to the store. I couldn't return them right away because I had other obligations due to a wedding I was in. So I returned them on Sunday ( I purchased them on Thursday), and they refused to refund my money stating that the shoes had been worn and they could only give me a store credit. Well obviously you knew the shoes had worn before being put back into stock and did not mention that fact when I paid for them. The manager tried telling me that the wouldn't have been put back on the floor..so how did they manage to find them for me to come and purchase. This is the best five guys location in the Richmond Area, and believe I have tried them all. I've been a Five Guys junky since my parents took me to their original store in Arlington when I was 4. I remember the Boom Box in the corner and that they used to wedge cut their potatoes for French Fries. Never forget.

Ever since they franchised its not been the same, but this location at least truly does the best job of recreating it. Because they Do. Not. Mess. Up. The. Toppings. The toppings are so important even if they are not charged! Every Five Guys franchise I have been too messes them up. Except this one. The grilled Onions and Mushrooms I always order on my burger are perfect. Absolutely Perfect. Always here. Never anywhere else.

It is always the little things that set apart franchises. And this location is a cut above the rest. Its attention to the meaningless details translates into everything else. I flat out love Five Guys burgers! If I don't watch myself I could be eating there two or three times a week. This is not quite fast food, but it's not slow either. They serve burgers, hot dogs, limited sandwiches, milkshakes, and fries along with fountain drinks. Free peanuts in the shell are available while you wait for your food to be prepared. The regular burger comes with two patties, so order the "little" if you want a single. Numerous toppings are available to customize your choice, but for me the main selling point is the fries: you can get regular or Cajun-spiced. And the Cajun fries are OMG delicious!
