Read moreI've been waiting for forever for a brewery to open within walking distance of my house, and as luck would have it, 6&40 is not only close, but it's a perfect reflection of the soul of north Lakewood! The beer is good, and that makes sense since it's right next to Tom's brewshop and owned by the same Tom that owns the brewshop. 6&40 brewery has a vintage car theme, which brings me to my only word of caution, if you take your vintage car there to show it off to other motorheads (and I hope you do!), turn into the parking lot directly from Quail to the west! The south entrance to the parking lot has potholes big enough to swallow a FedEx truck and the north entrance is a hillbilly stunt-ramp. I'm so glad this brewery is here, I hope it's so successful that it...
Read moreSeriously great beer in a little retro-style location tucked away next to the connected brew shop. As a foodie and fermentation geek doing a lot of coast-to-coast traveling, I don't leave 5 star reviews unless a place REALLY impressed me. This beer did just that. We tried 3 different brews, and my friend (also a foodie with a rich background in fine coffee and beer) and I were blown away by all 3 of them. The brewmaster really knows what he's doing. Flavors are complex yet all beautifully rounded, coming together uniquely and beautifully! Will be back to this humble place to try some more...
