Big Flames Burgers — Restaurant in Lakewood

I have been going here for about 2 years. I love the food here. But today I witnessed something I wish I did not see. I watched the cook sweep the floor and then stock the refrigerator. After that we took my order cause the cashier was in the back. After he took order he went straight to the grill. I ordered a bacon cheese omelette. I watched him grab a hand full of bacon with no gloves. He didn’t even wash his hands after sweeping the floor or stocking the Refrigerator. Then as the My omelette was cooking I watched him put his palm on my omelette to feel how warm it was so he could put a slice of cheese on top of the omelette. I said “I’m not eating that and I want my money back.”One of the owners was there, an Asian Lady. I looked at her and said I want money back she said why, I said the cook has not washed his hands nor put gloves on and he’s touching my food with his hands. He sweep the floor and did other things. This is not ok. That’s a health hazard! She looked at me and smiled and said sorry but I can tell she didn’t understand why I wanted my money back. I ask her how often do he wash his hands or wear gloves? Sh e didn’t answer. They did give me my money back but I’m never...

The guy who took my order was extremely rude and acted as if I wasn’t there. I explicitly asked several times for a spinach tortilla for my chicken wrap and I was still given a wheat tortilla which I can’t eat. When handing over my food, the same guy ignored me for about 5 minutes before actually getting to me and handing it over, without anything to say. After I got home and realized I was given the wrong food, I tried calling back but was ignored. After calling back again a few times, my number was BLOCKED entirely, so now I can’t even call the store anymore. I used to love this place but after this interaction I don’t think I’ll be coming back. It used to be very friendly with great customer service and excellent food, but now I can’t even trust that my food is going to be correct which I just can’t do for my own health. Sorry to say but I don’t think flames is considerate enough to take care of their customers anymore, so I won’t be coming back...

Ok, sometimes I can be a little down on the local neighborhood eateries. I know that initially I pooh-pooed the idea of eating here, but I was wrong. The menu here ranges from breakfast food, to burgers and Mexican food. I've had burgers and burritos from this spot near my house at least twice and I WILL be returning again and again. The food is genuinely good. The service is relatively quick, although every time I go, the drive thru is packed and I had a line of at least 3 ahead of me. The interior seats maybe 10, but I have never seen a server anytime I've gone for pickup. Usually there are only two people, one taking orders, one cooking. I don't know how they do it, but it gets done and it is tasty. If you want a good burger, burrito or maybe breakfast, I think this will hit your spot like...
