I agree with everyone else. Great Customer Service!! However, there is one employee who stands out like a "shining star." Let me rephrase that. The Assistant Manager "Elena" is more like what would be described as a "STELLAR CONSTELLATION." I can't think of any other way to describe the OPTIMAL, PROFESSIONAL, AND PERSONAL service I have experienced here. Let's just say she is not any regular manager. Her dedication, patience, attention to detail, understanding, compassion and focus are the things all employee handbooks should be modeled after. I can not find enough positive words to express the gratitude I have. Elena is someone who I would recommend to anyone I know with storage needs. Having to store personal belongings can be very stressful for most people and she is a person who displays comfort, and confidence for anyone going through a tough situation. I say this because of a number of things she has gone above and beyond the call of duty. I just want to thank her for her passion for what she does, and the ability to make someone in a horrible situation feel they are significant in the universe. I went through separation after 25 year relationship. CHAOS. In the MIDDLE of this horrible separation my car died. For me to move most of my stuff without a car/van/or moving truck she let borrow a moving dolly and watched as I fumbled my way back and forth up NORWALK Blvd from Parkside Townhomes moving most of all my furniture all by myself (what a spectacle).lol. That right there blew me away. She was like no problem. Thanks When it came time to move to the new place I lost my key somewhere in the process of HWN GDNS and Huntington Beach. I looked everywhere. So I called Extra Space Storage, and Elena answered the phone. Well somehow or another someone found my ky and she told me when they were found, she said to herself "I bet I know who these belong to.' as she watched me progress through this move from hell. So she personally said "i better hold onto these." Thank God because Here we go again. ABOVE THE CALL OF DUTY. Last time I was there I needed more storage, so she gave me an amazing rate to up-size my unit, and finding one very very close to my original unit. Once again "STELLAR ELENA." When I was in the office, another customer came in and I overheard them talking about someone trying to break in and caught someone she told the customer the she said that thought it was him as he drove by in his white truck or something. PERSONAL CONCERN for her customers and their belongings!!! Once again, she blew me away. I don't know who reads these reviews, but whoever the CEO, COO, OR major stockholder at Extra Space Storage is, you better watch out. STELLAR ELENA may have your job...... Read moreGot a unit with my friend. My friend owns a small business online buying and reselling things and refurbishing things. So within the first week the staff changed my entry without my warning. We paid a month in advance. Today the staff calls me. They lie to me and tell me they've never seen me @ the unit (I wave at the manager every time I see him showing people around, and am often there while my friend gets what he needs and or dose small things to fix things. ), and that my friend is there to much. Because of this they wanted to cancel our account. I talked them down to restricting our hours to manager hours. This review may get higher depending on the remainder or our usage or may get lower. Really depends. Edit:1 day after posting this review they have yet again changed my code without reaching out to me.
Update: staff now aggressively follows me to my unit. Also the manager Shawn has been harassing us and has been lieing to me every time I talk to him. I called the other day about an hour 20 b4 the office closed to inquire about getting our hours restored to be the same as everyone else that has a unit there. I was told by the guy working that I'd have to talk to the manager Shawn and that he was helping someone else at the moment so I would get a call right back. 10 min b4 the office closed I called back because I hadn't heard anything from them and was informed that the manager decided to leave early and neglected to call me back. Shawn didn't call me back until 4:29 the next day which is super unprofessional considering that the office (and thus my opportunity to get in) closes an hour and a half later and they opened at 9am. So in short Shawn decided to wait a full 24hrs before calling me back. When I do talk to him he's nice until I pop the question or reenstating our hours then Shawn starts yelling at me like a psychopath about how my friend drove through the gate. I was in shock. I asked what he ment several times and he wouldn't say anything other than my friend drove through the gate. When I asked what damage there was he said "there could of been" and every alarm bell went off in my head. I asked if he drove through the gate how come there's no damage I mean after all when a car drives through a gate surly something is going to break causing some sort of damage. Shawn refused to elaborate further so I said i'd ask my friend about it. Turns out my friend had a Uber pick him up and the Uber driver decided to turn around because they didn't realize that there was another gate so they left through the entrance gate.
So today I went to the unit 30 min b4 the posted office close and my app wouldn't open the door and there was no staff in sight to assist me. Is Shawn stealing my stuff?
Also I have noticed the reviews for this place has been manipulated and alot of them seem like bots. This may be the only true and honest review of this place. I wouldn't put it past Shawn to manipulate the reviews to make it look like his poor work ethic and bad customer service...
Read moreExtra space storage is not a storage company that i would suggest anybody to give their hard earned money to in order to store their belongings. The reason I say this is because in the past i had a few different units that I rented from them and they were even at different locations and everytime the experience was the same. Very pricey units along with absolutely terrible customer service. The way they would treat me was unbelievable especially being that they charged so much money. I frequently would visit my storage units and they didn't like that. I guess they wanted me to store my stuff and then leave it alone for long periods of time which was bullshit. I paid good money to store my things there it shouldn't matter how many times I visited my unit or how long I stayed as long as it was within their business hours and I wasn't messing with anyone else's things that's all that should've mattered but not to them. I got harassed so often by the staff units I finally said enough was enough and took all my stuff out and moved to another facility that didn't harass me. I'm just warning anyone thinking about getting a storage unit at extra space storage to look else where there are plenty of better...
