After discussing what to order with my husband since we noticed that they had a huge price increase we decided to order a 10-piece. Just before placing a order with the female manager we watched one of the employees toss a bunch of chicken that was already boxed and sitting waiting for pickup from like door dash (canceled order)back on top of chicken that was under the warmer I believe that is a health violation definitely be checking with the health department. Which then our order was made and that same chicken that was tossed back on the tray was given to us. Got home chicken was dry and burnt some pieces still had feathers on them just nasty. My husband called and spoke to a employee that told my husband to bring in the receipt and we would get our order replaced as long as it's been within 24 hours. After checking our bag we did not have the receipt and we went in the next day to pick up our order when approaching the front counter the cashier by the name of Andy was very rude he started yelling at my husband telling him that we needed the receipt and the and the old chicken how are we to have the receipt if one was never given to us and we never was told to bring in the messed up order. My husband asked to speak to the manager which the manager was right there in drive-thru so she was only a few steps away from him and he was telling us no he wasn't getting his manager that he was a manager multiple times and proceeded to tell us that he was going to call 911 because it was harassment. Andy proceeds to call the cops. Manager heard all this going on and did not step in for about a good 5 minutes with a shouting match going back and forth between the employee Andy and my husband. The manager that was on duty needs more training in how to handle her employees and to deal with customers. Even after the manager stepped in Andy still was running his mouth he wouldn't even listen to his manager when she told him to stop. My husband said lady I was in the food service for 20 years and you need to tell Andy to go on his break or in the back which then she finally yelled at him to go in the back. I then told the manger that the way her and her stuff handled the situation was not professional and none of them should be working in food. The manager asked me what do I want her to do about the situation and I told her replace our order it's not our fault that your employee when we called did not tell us the policy other than bring in the receipt but if a receipt is not given we can't and they knew who we were because it was the same crew that was there the night before when we ordered and her response was I remember you guys from last night. The manager ended up replacing our order which the whole situation could have been avoided if Andy would have stayed in his place. It's pretty sad when you spend $30 and your gas to get a messed up order and the company doesn't want to replace it or the gas you have burned up to come back. The manager never apologized for Andy's behavior or the situation.
Looks like after reading the other reviews employee Andy seems to be a problem might want to give him his...
Read more07/01/16: 2 out of 5 - My friend and I made a stop here on our way down from Seattle, WA. We haven't had Church's since leaving San Diego, CA years ago. So, would I go back?
The place, surprisingly, sits next to KFC. The exterior resembles a Church's Chicken. However, going inside does not. The lobby is small, and along with that, the floors and tables & seats could do for a deep cleaning. It's an eatery so keep the seating area seriously clean!
The food...we'll...it's Church's Chicken. Typically, in my past experience, has been good. Unfortunately, this visit, I wasn't able to finish my chicken wing and drumstick. It tasted as if the frying oil is old or hasn't been filter out in awhile. Fortunately, the biscuit, mac & cheese, and the carbonation for soda machine was good.
Admittedly, the service was fast and friendly. Regardless, I just didn't like the idea of them wanting to upcharge me for a chicken wing in replacement of the thigh. It's a small wing in comparison to a larger thigh! I opted for a little drumstick. It wasn't any better.
If chump change is worth that much over customer service and experience value, then your business is failing and it's scraping the bottom.
And so, to answer my own question, would I go back? Not that it really matters to the readers, but if that's how they keep operating Church's Chicken, then I won't...
Read moreI HAD NEVER EATEN HERE AT THIS LOCATION BEFORE SO I THOUGHT TO TRY IT OUT. I WENT THROUGH THE DRIVE THRU AND ORDERED. I NEVER THOUGHT THAT BY THE TIME I'D GET TO WORK 10MIN LATER THAT MY FOOD WOULD BE HORRIBLE. MY CHICKEN SMELLED VERY OLD AND IT WAS VERY DRY. MY FRIES HAD LOADS OF SALT ON THEN AND I WAS DISPLEASED. NEEDLESS TO SAY I TOOK ONE BITE OF THE DRIED BREAST AND MY STOMACH STARTED HURTING IMMEDIATLY. I WAS VERY UPSET BECAUSE I HAD TO WORK AND COULD NOT TAKE THE 15MIN DRIVE BACK TO THE STORE. I CALLED AND SPOKE TO THE PERSON WHO PREPARED MY ORDER "ASHELY" WAS HER NAME INSTEAD OF TRYING TO RESOLVE MY SITUATION SHE MADE ME FEEL LIKE I WAS NOT TELLING THE TRUTH AND THAT I JUST WANTED FREE FOOD. I ASSURED HER THAT I DID NOT WONT FREE FOOD I WANTED FRESH FOOD. I HAD MY BOYFRIEND TAKE THE FOOD BACK. HE FORGOT TO TAKE BY "ONE SMALL DRINK" AND THEY TOOK ALMOST 3 DOLLARS OUT OF MY REFUND. EVEN THOUGH WE HAD TO WASTE TIME, AND GAS GOING BACK TO THERE LOCATION FOR THERE MESS UPS. THAT DRINK SHOULD OF BEEN COMPLIMENTARY. THIS WAS HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY TO ANY ONE. SAVE YOURSELF TIME, GAS, AND ENERGY.
ALSO WHEN I WAS IN THE DRIVE THRU THEY WERE TRYING TO CHARGE ME EXTRA FOR MAC AND CHEESE WHICH IS A SIDE!!!! THEY HAD NO MASHED POTATOES AND GRAVY...
