I have never been more embarrassed in a business in my entire life. My boyfriend and I placed a take out order. I asked for a Cesar salad, she asked if I wanted chicken, I said no. Asked for a house salad as well, 10 traditional bbq wings and 10 Buffalo boneless wings. I asked at least 5x if they have boneless wings, she said yes each time. My boyfriend goes to pick it up, she charges his card first, then gives him the order. It was one giant salad with just lettuce and cheese, and 10 of the wings were not boneless. They told us they “don’t even have boneless wings”. They proceed to TRY and correct the salad issues, we told them we wanted a Cesar salad as well, and they continued to make a house salad. I’m not sure where the confusion is coming from. At this point, he’s upset and leaves, forgetting his card was charged because he did not take the food. We would get something else. He gets home, checks his bank account and realized he was charged. He calls them, and they repeatedly tell us “no, we can’t refund.” When we asked why they can’t give a refund to a debit card, she repeatedly said “no” and she “doesn’t know how”. She sets down the phone, and we can hear her and the manager saying “just tell him you can’t do it.” He hangs up and drives back up there. They repeatedly tell him no. The other employees were telling him, with attitude, to “just take the food or leave”. Also told him to “cancel his card if he doesn’t like it”. He called police, who talked to the manager separately. We were told the manager said they simply “don’t know how to give refunds”. Thankfully, the officer explained to them that you simply just can’t do that, and they ended up giving us cash, after 30 minutes of arguing. Sounds to me like they were just upset that they made a mistake and the customers wouldn’t “just deal with it”. I am absolutely disgusted with the way we were spoken to and treated. I have worked in restaurants before, and when it comes to messing up a customers order, mistakes happen, but you correct it one way or another. I am utterly embarrassed with the management of this establishment. Never in a million years would I ever treat a customer that way over my OWN mistake, and tell them they have to...
Read moreI had heard a lot about this restaurant at Sandusky Speedway and decided to try it after the races on 7/2/16. The restaurant was relatively empty. We went for pie and the visit was bad from the start. The waitress was either on something or she was just clueless (I prefer to think the first). She took our order and didn't bring our coffee until after she brought the pie (the coffee would have been the FIRST thing I brought out). When she brought our pie out, she started walking away and I had to remind her of the coffee. We both requested pie a la mode. As a server, my first question would have been whether the customer would have wanted it warmed. I didn't think to tell her because it's general practice to warm pie that is served a la mode. And they both came cold as ice, a la mode. One of our pies was to be apple caramel. We got regular apple. When we questioned, the answer was, "We don't always have caramel so I just brought out apple." A REAL server would have IMMEDIATELY returned to see if we would like to reorder since what we requested wasn't available (if given the opportunity he would have chosen another pie). Then, as he looked up, the 4th of July decorations caught his eye. The flags were hung with the stars to the left. When hanging a flag vertically on a wall, the stars should always hang to the right of the flag. I understand that one of the "kids" at the restaurant probably did the decorating, but this really offended my companion, who is a Veteran. The best part of the night was when I told the cashier (a young man) and he was quite interested in what I had to say. There were 6-8 flags in the restaurant, all hung wrong, so I showed him what I meant using the flag nearest his cashier counter. There was a man standing in the doorway who observed this, and when I turned to see him, he was nodding his head and giving me the "thumbs up and thanked me as I walked by to go to the restroom. When I came out of the restroom, I noticed that at least one of the flags had already been changed by the young man. So that was the best, and a redeeming part...
Read moreI go here every morning with my boss for breakfast. The place is clean the food is good and the service is good. I'm leaving a bad review because we were watching my phone play a guardians game. I admit that the phone was a little loud. We had another customer come over to our table and ask us to turn it down which was fine we did but then she proceeded to tell us how rude we were that they couldn't even hear their own conversation from across the room and that the game we were watching was yesterday's game. She was very rude to us. Which I do not believe the phone was not that loud. Apparently she is a regular there because she has a reserve for her table every morning. The owner did nothing and said nothing until the next day when her regular was not there and then she apologized to us. Apparently this is not the first time her regular customer has been rude to other customers but yet she still lets that woman come in. Do not believe this is a proper way to run a business when you let your customers tell off other customers and do nothing about it. By the way we were watching the highlights of the guardians game from the day before because my boss's Amish and does not have TV at home to watch the games but is a very adamant fan of...
