Dinner date once in a while. 😅🥰

This fantastic BBQ spot is one locals might not want you to discover; it's that good. I own a kamado and smoke weekly; Landmark Smokehouse has great food. Went on a Friday after flying into Cleveland; about a 15 minute drive from the airport. Lots of seating, bathrooms upstairs and down. In addition to BBQ, Landmark boasts an impressive array of bourbons, some exclusive to the restaurant. Juliana, our server, was courteous and very helpful regarding the menu choices (there are a LOT). We started with the Pork Belly Swirl bao buns; the bread was pillowy and perfect with the pork belly. I chose brisket (1/2 pound), my son the Mac n Cheese (pulled pork on top). MIYM on the brisket, with no need for sauce. Their house sauce is bright and tangy. I like hot sauce and their Sriracha was delicious. We loved Landmark so much we came back Saturday for Brunch! Regular menu items are available on the Brunch menu. My son had the pancakes, I had brisket hash, and yes, as tender as the day before. David was our server today and the excellence from the staff continued. Great coffee, too. Lakewood and Parma both have good BBQ spots, but whenever I fly into Cleveland, Landmark Smokehouse is officially a "forever " place. Chef's 💋💯👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

My father and I stopped at the landmark smokehouse for lunch one day, and we were blown away by how good it was for a Cleveland smokehouse. The atmosphere was nice, and the service was very attentive. I appreciated that you could order just the meat a la carte. We started with the cornbread, which had a different consistency than I was used to; it was almost like a cake but still had great flavor. Once we topped it with butter, it really hit the spot. As for the food, we tried a bit of everything. The brisket was cooked extremely well—moist with great flavor. The pulled pork was delightful, and the turkey was good as well. Our favorite, however, were the ribs. The barbecue sauce they make in-house is incredible. When they put it on the ribs and char them on the grill, it caramelizes the sauce, enhancing the flavor. The sauce on the side tastes different from the sauce that’s charred onto the ribs, which tastes so much better. Those ribs were fantastic! We will definitely be back for just those ribs—and for all the other meats, too. I highly recommend stopping here again. There are still many items on the menu that we want to try out. We’ll have to come back soon!

The restaurant design is good, an element of clean minimalism nicely incorporated with the exposed brick and somewhat older structural support. The noise level, at the 6:30 hour, was not bad, compared to most other restaurants (with a goal to get-them-in-and-out?). Thank God they didn't copy a food chain.

STAFF: Very pleasant, friendly and genuinely inquisitive regarding you meal.

APPEARANCE: Very clean, sharp! It is obvious the owner(s) have invested a goodly amount of monies in this venture.

GOOD: That is where our meals where somewhat lackluster. Items ordered were hamburger and mac/cheese and the pulled pork. I apologize, in SF, I had THE best hamburger in the world. The waiter suggested a bite without ketchup or mustard. Egadz.

Sadly, the meat was mediocre at best. It wasn't overcooked . . . just mediocre. Also, why would a restaurant "lightly butter" the bun? This resulted in the need to wipe your hands as you placed the sandwich down - - - unless some people enjoy greased eating utensils. Warming it, yes; however, greasing a bun just makes "holding it" a tad greasy.

The mac/cheese was equally lackluster. My first inquiry was "why gouda". Yes, many different cheeses can be used but it just didn't make it. A personal friend, who taught cooking, has "played" with the classic form, mastering a great mac/cheese. Why gouda?

Cole slaw was unique in appearance. The pulled pork was medium.

OVERALL: The restaurant has a great deal of potential. I think any restaurant should be given time to workout many problems. There's is limited to just the menu - - - it has potential.

They need to work with the menu, which is my own perspective. With time and work, it could be a recognized area addition - - - just needs some work.

Again, it has great potential which I contend can be reached. One can easily tell they are putting much hard work into this restaurant and making it work - - - so, for that, let's see how it fairs and return a...

My first time eating at this establishment, but it will definitely NOT be the last. It's a small, comfortable, cozy place. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting. The lighting is well picked also, not so bright that you feel like you're going to go blind, but not so dim that you feel alone in the space. The food is absolutely amazing! From the moment I walked in the door I wanted to eat everything. You can smell the many dishes already prepared, and those in the process. The smells do not blend together, they each claim their distinct space in your senses. Smelled SOgood in there! I really appreciated how clean everything looked. Usually the cooks can get a bit messy, but the cooks looked good as well, as though they really took pride not only in their dishes, but also in their work appearance. Same with the rest of the staff, very presentable. The tables were really clean and the floors and the walls, the freakin place was really well kept. The best for last portion would be our server. Sky was the name she gave. She was extremely welcoming from the door. She greeted us with a big bright genuine smile. Some times due to the nature of work it can get hard to smile so welcoming through an entire shift, but, she pulled it off. She was very polite and professional, but also playful. Still professional though. I appreciate her level of attentiveness. Because of her it didn't feel like a simple step into a restaurant, it felt closer to visiting an old friend. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Hopefully, whoever reads this will get lucky enough to be served by Mizz...
