So we ordered food from here a couple weeks ago for delivery. The meal itself was outstanding! I had kind of a tour of Italy meal with lasagna, ravioli and Alfredo. The Alfredo was my favorite, homemade noodles are incredibly good and the sauce just as scrumptious.
The reason for my 2 star review however, was the dessert. I ordered my favorite Italian dessert, tiramisu. After such an amazing meal, I was really looking forward to my dessert. The dessert came in a styrofoam to go container and was in a plastic bag by itself tied shut. Since having the food delivered, I had taken it from the delivery guy, then upstairs to our room where I handed my man his meal and got mine out and place the bag containing my dessert next to me on the ground so no one had opened it until now.
I was extremely disappointed upon opening the lid and finding just the smallest piece of tiramisu. Then after examining it for a few seconds, came to the disgusted realization that it was over half eaten! How gross is that? To have food delivered to your home that someone else has been eating?
Now we ordered directly from the restaurant, not a delivery service like door dash or Uber eats, no we ordered from the restaurant so it was their people who delivered the food.
It was just a couple minutes past 9pm when I had discovered this. I immediately called them, a couple times, but since they close at 9, apparently they stop answering the phone then too.....it was only 9:02pm.
I took pictures of the mostly eaten tiramisu and sent them a Facebook message along with the pictures. I was hoping they would reach out to me to correct this error. It appears that they don't have anyone who regularly monitors their FB page as I have yet to receive a response.
So the food was really good but I have yet to try the tiramisu, although their is still a mostly eaten piece sitting in my fridge.....time to...
Read moreWe have traveled across town for years to go to Garramone's and it has always been great. This time, however, we had a terrible experience. Granted, they were short staffed (as most restaurants are these days), and two waitresses were handling things as best they could, so I can cut them some slack for that.
I ordered a medium cheese pizza, and when it got to our table it looked like it had been sitting out for a long time. Just warm (when all the other times it is so hot that it burns your mouth) and just blah looking. I had one piece and forced myself to eat a second, then decided it wasn't worth the calories to eat another.
My wife got the "all you can eat" Tuesday spaghetti special. Usually it's her favorite, and the reason we drive across town when we can to eat here. It was not good for her this time. Just warm, and blah.
All in all, it was a very disappointing trip to Garramone's for us, when we usually look forward to going there when we have a free Tuesday in our schedule (for the spaghetti special). My wife was beyond disappointed.
If this would have been our first time there, we would never go back, and even now we are questioning if it's worth the gasoline to give them...
Read moreOrdered veal and spaghetti. Had to ask for bread that was supposed to come with dinner, had to ask for utensils, ask for the soup that was supposed come before dinner, never offered a refill on drinks, could hear the staff conversating just out of sight while i got little service. The pasta seemed homemade. Very thick for spaghetti but homemade is good. Soup was not great. Orzo and minestrone broth. If there was veggies they were cut so small, or turned to mush in the boiling soup. Just overcooked orzo and minestrone broth. 3 pinto beans in the bowl. I don't mind beans in the soup but overall not good. The broth had good flavor. Breaded veal was disappointing. Is it breaded in house? Ive had better breading and texture on frozen microwave dishes. And why use pre-sliced cheese? It doesn't melt or taste as good because of the processing and starch on the cheese. If its not Sunday, head up the road to Cafe Jordano. They are great, and always packed because of it. If it is Sunday, check out Fiddlesticks sports bar, or Mannings on Alameda. Mannings has a couple great pasta dishes if...
