The food was perfectly seasoned, the texture of the orange chicken struck a perfect balance between crunchy and soft. The Hot Sour soup had an adequate, yet not overpowering amount of spice, which, when coupled with the green onions coats the palate with a warm and spicy delight of flavor and splendor. The Family entree is extremely reasonably priced at 15.50 per person. With this price You'll receive a generous portion of food and appetizers which you can all share, giving all of you the pleasure in the ability to taste more delightful dishes that embrace you with an authentic flavor from China. The Cashew Chicken needs to be mentioned for its delicious mix of green peppers which were perfectly firm yet cooked just well enough so as to lend a delightful texture to the dish. I must also mention the delightful crunch of the cashew, adding to the delicious salty savory chicken within the dish. As we leave and my wife sees another man carrying out takeout containers, panic sets in. " Did we get the food?!" She exclaims. A relief washes over her as our daughter tells her we have the leftovers nestled safely upon her lap. We laugh with sweet relief, knowing we will enjoy the bevy of flavors...
Read moreDefinitely coming back. It's hard to find a spot that makes good sizzling rice soup. This place had a really good broth and the soup was nice and hot (not spicy). Some place will serve you a warm to lukewarm soup, or have a bland broth. This was good. The salt & pepper shrimp was amazing. The chow fun was really good. There are actual flavor in their chow fun noodles. We also ordered one more thing that tasted like orange chicken but the flavor was way better. Also, the sweetness of the chicken was not overwhelming or too sweet at all. It was perfect.
After we received our sizzling rice soup, we didn't get the rest of our order until much later. We can tell that they forgot our order. It was understandable since they received 7 huge to-go orders in between our order. I really wanted to give the please give stars for service but that it usually a deal breaker if the food was terrible. Luckily the flavor and aroma saved the meal experience.
Place is definitely old but I like the hole in the wall look. Not the cleanest looking spot but definitely doesn't bother me. I look forward to coming back and trying...
Read moreOk I'm telling you right now, if you're used to east coast Chinese, this is NOT it!! I've had some luck in Oceanside and Menifee a few years back. My review according to my taste - Sweet and sour chicken has the sauce in it and taste like orange chicken sauce (which was my favorite, but I got it for my picky kids that dont like the sauces on their chicken. This became mommys main dish 😂). Wonton soup looks like brains which can be overlooked but the taste is just so different than any wonton soup I've ever had and comes with loads of mushrooms and other veggies. And that goes for the steamed dumplings as well. They put more veggies and flavorings I'm used to tasting in Cambodian dishes. It also taste like mixed meat, possibly pork and shrimp? There was also fried rice pieces inside the steamed dumpling dish.. The white rice was pretty dry and tasted old. The spicy tofu dish was good. And that sweet and sour/orange chicken was bomb! The food tasted like a more upscale take-out than the traditional Chinese take-out I'm used...
