I like this place because the playground for toddlers is surrounded with a 4 foot fence with plenty of shade. Gives you more sense of safety that your child just can’t run off into the park. This place is near a hip coffee bar about 2 blocks west , Collaborative Coffee. Check that place out and grab a coffee before you head here. They have a couple of benches and also an atrium with 2 tables which I don’t think you can reserve but it’s possible to have a 10-15 person party there. Bring your sand toys! Things they can improve: The sand seems dirtier than others, perhaps because of the surrounding trees. The door to this area needs some tweaking to be able to close automatically.

Very clean quiet spacious park with bungalow style areas with alot of tables underneath. Spots must be reserved with the park and Get their early to ensure no problems. Will most definitely be going back to have future events there.

It was a positive first-time experience for my buddies and me as we set up our pickleball set for a fun Saturday evening impromptu activity. I look forward to checking out their scheduled pickleball nights

This was our 2nd time at the park..The park is beautiful, has a pool, and wildlife (geese). Great park, but there are issues.

  1. The park over waters the grass which results in the picnic area ALWAYS being flooded with water and mud. By the time it is dry, it's time to go and the process repeats...
  2. The staff micromanages. Constant feeling of walking on eggshells...
  3. you can't have your own generators, yet there's no available electrical source readily available because staff doesn't know where the key is.
  4. If you're a griller you know when meat comes, so does the flies. We put up tents to to keep leaves and debry out the food from the trees and wind, here comes the staff, " tents need to be see through. Like what are you looking for. We were on the Downey street side. The office is on Del Amo. What you have binoculars. We had 1 tent that was of urethane material, which was a replacement for a damaged cover. It had a wrap around cover we planned to use to tie tents together to keep them from blowing away....they just hovered over us worse than the flies....how about posting what can and can't be done. in the park so there's less human interaction with the staff. It becomes annoying...

Though I grew up in Lakewood and mostly frequented Mayfair and San Martin, I never really visited here. We only came for the girls softball games. Though the parking usually sucks, as there's only neighborhood parking, it's a decent area and mostly untouched by homeless. Also, the restrooms aren't very accessible from the diamonds. We actually had to leave a game early from Field 1 as the pool restroom was still too far far for my blind, elderly sister to walk. The, very kind and polite pool lady did say this restroom floor was slippery, but there was another one about 50' away (even further). I almost asked the very kind and friendly park person to take us on his utility cart, but there was only one more seat so I wouldn't be able to accompany her. We just...
