This was our 2nd time at the park..The park is beautiful, has a pool, and wildlife (geese). Great park, but there are issues.
Though I grew up in Lakewood and mostly frequented Mayfair and San Martin, I never really visited here. We only came for the girls softball games. Though the parking usually sucks, as there's only neighborhood parking, it's a decent area and mostly untouched by homeless. Also, the restrooms aren't very accessible from the diamonds. We actually had to leave a game early from Field 1 as the pool restroom was still too far far for my blind, elderly sister to walk. The, very kind and polite pool lady did say this restroom floor was slippery, but there was another one about 50' away (even further). I almost asked the very kind and friendly park person to take us on his utility cart, but there was only one more seat so I wouldn't be able to accompany her. We just...
Read moreI like this place because the playground for toddlers is surrounded with a 4 foot fence with plenty of shade. Gives you more sense of safety that your child just can’t run off into the park. This place is near a hip coffee bar about 2 blocks west , Collaborative Coffee. Check that place out and grab a coffee before you head here. They have a couple of benches and also an atrium with 2 tables which I don’t think you can reserve but it’s possible to have a 10-15 person party there. Bring your sand toys!
Things they can improve: The sand seems dirtier than others, perhaps because of the surrounding trees. The door to this area needs some tweaking to be able to close...
