TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! - Poor service, equipment, and food
Took my family here for a birthday celebration that turned to a horrible experience. We made a reservation for bowling and upon are arrival we really struggled to get any service to assist us in getting set up. After 25min a server arrived at the bowling area counter and finally got us set up on a lane. We where sat down at our table that had not been bussed yet , we brought it to the attention of the server and after 20min another server came along and cleared the table of food trays and empty bottles , but never came back to wipe the grime off the table surface. No one in the group had been offered bowling shoes, a family member went on a quest to find assistance and eventually spoke with someone at the bar as no service was found at the bowling area. Another 15min had elapsed and the group finally received shoes, at this point it was clear that service is slacking terribly, I gathered the family to place food and drink orders at the same time as receiving bowling shoes figuring it was now or wait another 20+ min.
We finally started bowling, I had brought my personal bowling ball, on the first frame , first throw, the bowling machine never returned my bowling ball. I proceeded to find assistance, I had to walk over to the bar to notify somebody, as no one was at the bowling service counter. The person I spoke with said they would get somebody to help. Time just continued to elapse and nobody ever came to help. I didn't want the families fun to be ruined by sitting and waiting all night so I gave up on waiting and allowed everyone to continue bowling.
The food. The main course offered at the establishment is pizza. The whole family wanted pizza, when trying to order we had been told they were out of pizza, appetizers only. So the family sadly ordered appetizers for dinner. The food we ordered came out in a timely manner, though the drinks did not. I finished my food before the arrival of my drink.
Nearly done with are first game of bowling I finally spotted the server assisting us with bowling originally and notified them I still hadn't received my personal bowling ball back yet. Finally some assertive action had been taken at this establishment and my bowling ball came back. HOWEVER, my bowling ball had been destroyed! Completely speechless when I first saw the return of my ball, it had been scarred with a dozen chunks taken out of it. Chunks the size of a silver dollar and a 1/4in deep. Unreal. 30 years of bowling and have never experienced this.
I notified the server of the situation and asked for a manager. I was told no manager is working this evening. No offering was made. I asked that some action be taken, the person replied that they would try to "text" the manager and see if they reply.
At this point I wasn't even sure this was an employee standing behind the counter. The person wasn't wearing a name tag and was clothed in personal wear, non hangar 101 identifiable attire. My family and I concluded are evening here and unfortunately on unsatisfied terms. My severely damaged bowling ball was never...
Read moreJune 2022 - this place has nose dived. Visited after a concert and was absolutely disgusted. From the bartender who told me she would not make a mojito to the morass of vaping millennials openly blowing their lives away, this is no longer on my list of go-to watering holes. Dank and dirty does not make ambience, regardless of the plane out front
May 2020 - Ami - I wanted to update my review as promised. Though I missed the soft opening, I was able to get over today to see the fruits of a pretty long labor. Very cool place - much needed in Lakewood - but with caveats. I sat at the bar, arriving just after 4 (drinking light was on!). While taking in the ambiance, I wanted to make note of a few areas I know you are likely focused on. Bar staff is new (green), and trying to figure out your point of sale system. I'm sure they will get what should be a 5 sec interaction down from 30+ sec. However...one critical bartender trait is to not take your eyes off the customers at the bar. Their eyes were down the entire time...meaning we had to wave to get attention. Staff was obviously stretched...both in skills and learning they bar mechanics. After 10 minutes, we placed our empty bottles on the drip mat to gain attention. When the bar gal approached but didnt acknowledge us, we prompted her only to be met with a bit of ire and attitude. Granted...she was likely frazzled...but never suggest to the customer that they need to learn patience. Next area of focus, once your staffing issues work themselves out. The area between the bar ant table should be converted to bar stools and a raised long table seating. This would work in the passageway to the restrooms...and allow for greater capacity.
I'll leave it at that for now. I fully intend to return (and update my review), as I'd like to make this my local go to place for out of town friends and local compadres. I get opening pains...but consider bringing in a higher caliber staff that gets service. You have a corner on the market...on the corner of a busy intersection...in an area ready for a great upscale dive joint!

Feb 18 - Balancing out the useless 5 star entry. I'll update when this actually opens. Lakewood needs more upscale development, not the typical strip mall, head and pawn types. Looking forward to the eventual opening...
Read moreNew bar and grill in the neighborhood and we were excited to check it out. We have waited a while as we heard about the "growing pains" and wanted to give them an opportunity to get those worked out. We arrived on Saturday night around 830pm and it was a nice crowd, there seemed to be some fun roller derby teams in having playing pool and bowling. We sat down at a table to eat before playing pool. It took at least 15 min before anyone acknowledged we were there and we were the only people sitting at the tables. The waitresses in "pin-up girl" attire as advertised in the Westword article were wearing leggings and ripped t-shirts. Once taking our simple order: water, rum & coke, tea, 2 veggie pizza, and an order of wings the server disappeared. 15 minutes later our drinks showed up and about 10 minutes after that 1 pizza and 1 order of wings. We asked for our 2nd pizza and the gentleman who delivered the pizza apologized and went and made another pizza. The 2nd pizza brought out was another veggie pizza but with different toppings and didn't taste very good--way too much artichoke brine. I was another 20 minutes before our server came to check on us again--I guess hanging out with bartenders was more important than serving customers. I had to walk up to the bar to get refills of drinks as she was never around to provide them. After eating we played pool and had some fun. The pool tables are as you would expect. We were going to play shuffleboard but there was a couple on the shuffleboard table doing things they should be doing in a room. There was spilled beer around 2 of the high top tables all evening, no one made an attempt to clean it up. The only person I saw consistently work all night was the busser. He was a tall, skinny guy who was refilling glasses behind the bar and pick up things on the tables. There obviously was no manager on duty taking care of the place. This is such a disappointment, with such poor service, the fact that the kitchen has no idea what toppings to use on their pizzas, and not keeping it clean this will likely not be a long lived neighborhood fun place that we had...
