Good news, bad news. First the good...judging from the jewelry selections and quality among many other unique items it seems obvious that Pingenot is about high quality. In fact, there was a beautiful pearl necklace that I admired (almost $20k) that I would consider buying for my daughter. While I was there I dropped off a ring to have a broken black onyx cabachon replaced with an amethyst cabachon. I was told that the ring should be ready in "about a week". Two weeks later I called to find that it wasn't done yet. "A few more days". The next week I called again and was told that the new cabachon had to be adjusted to fit but that it was expected by that Wednesday. I called again on Friday to find that it still wasn't done. On Monday I went to the store to see what was going on and actually talked to the jeweler that was working on it and was told that he expected the cabachon to be there later in the day and that it would be ready no later than the next day, a Thursday. Today is Friday and I stopped at the store once again and was again told that it wasn't done yet but as soon as the jeweler comes in they would have him finish it and would call when it was done. Now, I can't speak to the other work that is done here but I get the distinct impression that unless you're a "big-dollar client" that any small order such as jewelry repair is not going to be a priority. When - and I stress the word when - I get my ring back it will be my last visit to...
Read moreTerrible customer service experience after initial consult. I was searching for a shop to help with a custom ring order. I was directed by another jeweler who had high praise for this shop. After scheduling and appointment in April, I was very impressed with the gentleman who consulted on the project. My deadline was for July, which he stated was a very easy timeframe. He requested two weeks to create a wax mold as a draft. I waited four weeks without word. Finally, I called and learned that the owner has passed, which is absolutely tragic and I understood the delay. Speaking with the same gentleman, he apologized and stated he would come up with a wax cast within a week. At that point it was late May, which he assured me was plenty of time for them to create this gift. While he kept his word of creating the cast, it was clear he no longer remember the older details and I had to remind him of the reference photos and design ideas. He thankfully came up with a much better case which I approved for production. I waited until two weeks before the July deadline. He never updated me again. I tried texting and calling him, leaving a polite inquiry about the order. He has refused returning any form of contact. I had to give up this project and was unable to give this special gift. I can't recommend someone wasting their time with this shop and it's...
Read moreI had a really positive experience with Ron Pingenot and his staff. They fixed my engagement ring (a tourmaline) that had chipped. They did it for what I felt was a reasonable price and finished earlier than they had expected. The ring is looking dazzling! I also loved how the staff was clearly enthusiastic about my gem and encouraged me to keep wearing it (even though I felt guilty that I had chipped it). They said âyour jewelry is meant to be worn! It can...
