2 words: HELL YEA. If you like barbecue, put this on your list. I have been driving past this place for years and never bothered to stop, I'm so glad we finally did. Everything was fantastic. The experience runs a bit like a big backyard barbeque, like a neighborhood cookout that you don't have to bring a side dish for. Every bite of food was out of this world! We did the Piggin Out Sampler and a couple beers: 4 kinds of meat (ribs, pork, chicken, brisket), 2 pints of sides, 2 slabs of cornbread with butter and honey, 2 sauces, and the beers all for $65. Definitely enough to feed 3 or 4 people depending on how deep your stomach is, it was the hubby and I and we thought we were gonna tear it up but we ended up dragging half of it home, I'm so excited for leftovers. The meat just falls apart and melts in your mouth, it's incredible. You can literally pull the ribs apart with your bare hands and minimal effort. None of it even needed sauces but try them anyway, the Carolina Mustard and the Peach Habanero were amazing. The mac n cheese is the extra cheesy kind, it's not Velveeta-creamy, it's definitely scratch made with love. The cornbread has a great texture and crumb to it. I had a hard time stopping eating despite myself. I'm already psyched about the next time we go, to try more stuff on the menu :D
All the seating is outside, you order inside the hut up front and then find a seat and they bring it out to you. Well, there is some covered seating, some under a roof and some under a big tent, but not fully enclosed spaces per se. Parking is around the sides and back. Utensils, paper plates, and cups / dispensers for water are strategically placed on bars around. There's a single centrally located enclosed restroom, which doubles as a great place to wash messy hands and face after your meal lol. Paper towels are in buckets on several tables, grab an unoccupied one nearby. You pay when you order, so you can just leave out one of the several gaps in the fence when you're done. The nice man at the counter will give you a to-go box and lids for your sides if you...
Read moreWe used Piggin' Out catering services for our daughter's wedding. Of COURSE the food was amazing; one taste left us no option but to go with their delicious food...but I want to talk about the process of choosing them for catering our daughter's wedding. Good BBQ is one thing, but the care Piggin' Out put into our event was above and beyond anything I ever expected. It felt like we were among people who cared about the event going well --- as if the bride and groom were their own family members!
Upon arrival for our tasting appt., we were greeted by Chance, who was an absolute delight. His easy-going, friendly manner drew us into the entire experience. After offering us a huge selection of samples, he answered all of our questions, and made us feel as if we were the most important people in the building. We later discovered that he was also a TIPS certified bartender for Piggin' Out, and we insisted that he do the bartending for our event.
When we made the choice to go with Piggin' Out catering, Ben took the time to answer all of my questions and iron out even the tiniest details of the plan...and then Zack pulled it all together for us. Both Ben and Zack treated my zillions of questions as important, never once making me feel bad about the many little revisions along the way. Instead, our business was the most important thing in the room...or so they treated us!
At the event, their staff was thorough, respectful, friendly, helpful, and all that I could have hoped for in terms of an event staff. They seemed to take the event personally...like they were doing their absolute best for their friends, not just for a paycheck.
We hit the jackpot by using Piggin' Out to cater our event! I would DEFINITELY...
Read moreI had passed by this place many times and wanted to try it. Finally decided to one day when I actually caught it open. Such a cute little place and signs outside claim it's voted one of the best in town. Well... When greeted by whom I'm assuming was the owner I instantly felt as though I should be ashamed of myself for even entering his establishment and bothering this man. He had a very condescending attitude along with an unfriendly one. I couldn't believe as I glanced over the menu that he has the nerve to charge such high prices for his food and then be so rude. Well,I thought to myself, his food must be delicious to make up for this. So,I ordered. Pulled pork sandwich meal. Something like 10.50. Couldn't wait to eat it. Found a seat under the lovely tree he has out back and dug in. The sauce that he so crankily bragged about being homemade didn't do much to moisten the dry pork I was eating. The beans, ehhh, could've made them better myself and the cornbread..well,I'm originally from the South...that's all I have to say about that. By far the best part of that whole visit was that lovely shade tree...
