Boots' and Sonny's No. 2 — Restaurant in Landrum

So here's the deal -- my wife and I had a random hot dog craving (which almost never happens), and we figured we'd go to the spot we knew in Spartanburg. But that drive? A bit much for a quick bite. But I told her what a coincidence I seen a Boots' when I went to the lawn mower shop! Bless that mower, because now we've got a new go-to spot.

Let's talk food: My wife had the fish and shrimp -- fresh like it swam here. I got the Boots' Burger with onion rings that crunched louder than the fans in the dining room (which, by the way, were working overtime. Not sure if it was the AC or a tribute to NASCAR, but it was breezy in there).

The vibe is pure old-school diner meets car guy dream garage. Clean, cool, and loaded with personality. We told the staff it was our first time and they couldn't have been nicer. Friendly, helpful, and you could tell they actually liked being there. Rare these days.

I love Boots & Sonny's in Landrum. The food is delicious, and I'm a big fan of their chili cheese fries. The only complaint I ever have with them is that they never ever get my order 100% right.

I've been there many times since they opened, but I always have to go back inside to get something fixed. The few times I didn't check the bag, I regretted it when I got home.

They will leave something off of my burger I asked for (today they gave me a burger with only chili and I asked for chili, slaw, and onions), forget to put my kids fries in the bag, forget the ranch dressing, forget the corn dog I ordered, etc.

It's really good food, and the staff is friendly - just check your order thoroughly if you get carry out.

Boots and Sonny's has been around since before I was born and I'm 40. Their food today is still as great as it was when I was a kid. They have the best hotdogs you will find in spartanburg county and I would even bet the best in the state. The Landrum location is a wonderful addition to our location. Theres not to much to choose from in landrum that won't cost you an arm and a leg. Lol. This location has the same great food quality as spartanburg. Yes the staff isn't as seasoned as there other location but they will get there! Overall , if you want good food at a good price and quick service. Go to Boots and Sonnys..
