El Chile Rojo — Restaurant in Landrum

Well, this one is a little difficult to rate.

We tried this restaurant on a whim.

The food was good yet a bit underwhelming.

We had the nacho plates one chicken and one steak.

The flavor was ok. They fell short as there was really nothing on the plate but the meat a fair amount of chips.

It tasted kind of bland. I was surprised to see that there was absolutely no garnish or otherwise colorful vegetables on it either.

The price would have been reasonable had they finished the presentation.

The service was good however. The servers were friendly and accommodating, a little too much at times.

The atmosphere however, was odd.

First of all the bar and the restaurant area was way to bright. It was like eating in an operating room.

The interior of this place could use a fair amount of TLC.

The ceiling tiles were water stained, the rear exit door was installed up against the wall like it was a last minute decision.

The room was painted in a hideous shade of green.

The entire place was kind of an odd setup and the decoration was weird. It made me uncomfortable.

It was also very slow for a Saturday night.

I really can't say much more about the place. It speaks for itself.

Truly awful not one smile on any employees faces, drinks were poorly made been waiting two hours on a speedy Gonzales but when two employees wanted to eat there food was done instantly go figure. There just casually eating as customers are waiting on the food they paid for. About to tell them just forget and refund but wait food finnaly come and is cold wow. Don't come here if your in a hurry. If your looking for good customer service might as well keep going down the street till you get burger king there at least smiling when you walk in. Have not been this dissatisfied with eating at a sit down restaurant in years will not return and frankly wanna tell them what I think but they look as if they wouldnt really care either way. High prices with quality lacking in many areas I'm not sure how they get any business. Save your...

I have lived in the area for four years and never tried this place until today and now I know why. The salsa is basically ground up probably canned tomatoes. I ordered the California burrito which was supposed to have rice and beans, onions and steak in it however it only had a few grains of rice and no beans. I asked for some pico de gallo and they brought it out to me in a scorching hot bowl. When my food came out I was asked if I wanted the guacamole that came with the meal and they brought it out in a bowl that was broken and chipped in several places The steak was very tough.
