I am a Lansdale local and live in the West Ward. I have been in the area for most of my life and am involved in the local music and skatepark communities. These things are relevant because I will be the first to admit that I do not get out much and/or go out to eat in my own town because of my crazy schedule. But my visit to Lansdale Tavern on Monday reminds me of how amazing our local restaurants are.
Having met the owners Julie and Buddy they are a prime example (one of few) of owners that love their business and love the community/town around it. They have worked very hard and it shows! They have done a lot for the community and they treat their staff as family and make sure that they are appreciated, have time off around holidays to enjoy their own families, but also to get together as a company and enjoy each others company.
With that being said, I haven’t been to LT for quite some time. My visit on Monday was nothing short of exceptional.
We were seated quickly (even though it was a busy Trivia night!) , our server Christian couldn’t have been more amazing. He was attentive , friendly , helpful with the menu , and honest (they had issues with a fridge and it was a shortened beer list that night).
The food came out hot and was fresh. I chose the cauliflower bites and elected for Sweet Thai Chili sauce. They have a great selection of sauce options. The bites melted in my mouth. The batter was not too thick and they were fried great! No greasiness or heaviness to them. I also elected for the tavern grilled cheese and chose Rye bread. The ingredients were fresh, tasted as great as they looked and it was a great sandwich. I LOVE grilled cheese and this did not disappoint.
I will forever support LT from afar as a fellow community memeber that has watched them grow and do what they do best. But I highly recommend that you consider visiting them and trying their food. Their menu is awesome and also as a born and raised vegetarian , they have a great selection to choose from and also vary the...
Read moreCame late night about an hour before closing and got a drink. They close at 2 and at 1:30 the bartender said she wouldn’t serve anyone else. I wanted one last drink. At 1:55 a couple people walked in and she served them. I asked again if they are not serving and she said no she closed the register.
Edit reply to owner: Wow. MOCKING your customer in your reply “safe travels back to NC 😘” with a wink/kiss emoji. Blatantly rude and no accountability. Clearly, this is a culture issue from the top down. Instead, you deflect and suggest fault is the customer. “Trust in staff” and “bartender judgement” not to serve as if I was at fault. I was not intoxicated as these were the only drinks I had that week. I was tired from travel and couldn’t sleep in the hotel. “Bartender judgement” appeared to be that she wanted to leave work ASAP regardless of the fact there were still about 10 customers when she asked everyone to close their tab 30 minutes before closing - not 10 min, pal. Get your facts right. That’s why I closed my tab the second time. The first time I closed it because I had just arrived and wasn’t sure I would want to stick around. Then 2-3 people come in that appeared to be friends or regulars and she served them. Immediately after serving them, I asked for one more drink and was told no. I DEFINITELY didn’t say I didn’t want another beer. Your bartender is lazy and/or discriminatory - don’t put that on me. You apparently don’t even know what’s going on in your establishment when you are not there but judging by your reply, you are the reason for the...
Read moreWalked in there today with my family of 4. Waited at a booth for 20 mins with zero service, got up and left. You have one waitress serving the entire bar and tables...Come on do better and the whole we are short staff excuse is getting old.
To your reply. Definitely was not 8 mins and from the lack of service I'm sure that food would have came out 2 hours later. Yeah your waitress said sit anywhere and never came back and it was at least 20 mins. So thats my responsibility to flag your staff down? Sounds like a great place. Your service suxs as others told me but wanted to give you a chance. The fact your calling a potential new customer a liar just shows what kind of place your running. Extremely busy haha you had maybe 20 people there. Never coming back especially considering your reply. Flaging down one person serving that entire place would have made zero difference. How about you help your staff out instead of commenting on reviews. The fact that you keep saying that I should have flagged someone down for service is ridiculous and just shows your staffs lack of awareness and or just doesn't care for people waiting. Ended up going to the blue dog where there was one bartender serving the entire bar and tables and guess what, she was fantastic, super quick with food and drinks for everyone there. Your establishment could learn something from them. Apologize doesn't mean anything when you put it in bold or quotes so don't pretend to even care. Look at your review comments anyone that tries to give you honest feedback you act like a complete child and...
