The stylists here are really nice. The atmosphere was pretty and comforting. I had Brittany, she was very nice and attentive. She did a good job getting my hair dark. I wasnât too satisfied with my highlights. I showed a picture that was from their Instagram but what I got didnât match the picture. I wanted nearly black hair with light brown SLICE highlights (you can clearly tell in the picture) but I believe she WEAVED the highlights and after she toned my hair, my highlights werenât bright and blended in with the dark hair. She also didnât bring the highlights all the way down to the bottom of my hair, even though the picture shows so. She used one dark toner, there should have been another toner just for my highlights. Only my two front strands were the color I wanted but the rest of the highlights werenât even there. You wouldnât have been able to tell I had highlights. I also got a haircut. At the end, I paid $260, wasnât too happy about that⌠I was charged $57 just for a 5 minute 1-inch TRIM, not even a haircut, so I didnât think that trim was worth it.
I came here a couple days later because I wanted some sort of fix since I didnât receive the actual service I asked and paid for. At first I tried to cancel my appointment because I changed my mind of going here but I was going to be charged 50% of my service and that was gonna be $60⌠I really did not expect my service was going to be $120 just for a fix⌠but I definitely didnât want to pay $60 just to cancel so I showed up to my appointment. The salon was nearly empty and it was much slower than my first time there so I felt like it was unreasonable to try to charge me for cancelling. They set me with a different stylist Sienna. I showed the picture to her and explained the situation and how I really wanted my hair. But she didnât highlight my hair right eitherđ I wanted strip/slice highlights but she weaved the highlights too. This time my highlights were toned pretty well, the color does stand out more but not the highlights, theyâre so thin. My hair still looks great though, just wasnât what I wanted.
This time there were charges that didnât make sense to me, considering I only came just to get additional highlights. One of them was $25 for a blowout (which should have been included in my service? It would make sense to). I wasnât even charged that for my first visit. I was charged for a new full service just because I got a different stylist so I felt like they really didnât care about my dissatisfaction and their mistakes. I feel like this place just wants money⌠prices are ridiculous like my trim and the additional yet irrational charges for my second visit. I guess I didnât mind paying though because I respect them all, I can tell they do a great job and people love their work. I just donât think their work is fit for me, especially with my dark Asian hair, itâs a hard to get my hair light and I know some places struggle with working on Asian hair. I didnât see any Asians in their portfolios too. This place is great but unfortunately I wouldnât want to get my hair...
Read moreI was recommended to Maria because i have a very unique type of wig (I have alopecia and am completely bald) that she has experience with. She graciously accepted my appointment even though her books were closed. However two days before my long awaited appointment the salon called to ask to move my appointment to 10am instead of 12pm, l agreed because i assumed Maria would want more time since there was never a consultation. I was incorrect. I believe she pushed my appointment up to schedule another one right after me, which would have been fine except it caused her to rush toward the end of the appointment then causing a disaster. To explain exactly what i wanted, I showed Maria the cut that she herself had done on the same type of wig, which she agreed to. Unfortunately that is not at all what I received. I asked for long whispy curtain bangs, instead I got short choppy/shaggy bangs. I wouldnt be upset if I knew my hair would eventually grow back out. But this was a multi thousand dollar wig that I honestly dont know what to do with now. I also made sure to call the salon previous to my appointment to make sure she would have enough time to style it for a wedding. That was also not done(assuming bc she was rushing). My biggest problem is that l was then charged almost $400 when my original pricing was below $200. She did NOT explain/communicate the things being done that would cost extra. So l was left crying at the front counter with a botched wig and an enormous bill. I have never left a negative review anywhere ever, but this has extremely effected me.
Update: I received a call from Maria immediately after leaving my review. She asked why i did not like my bangs, i told her they were too short and not at all what i asked for. Her reply was to ask if maybe my wig slipped back?⌠isnt that something she should have checked since she has experience with these pieces? But she did not because she was rushing. She also tried to explain how to style it after I had explained to her that i have limited hand function. All she could offer was to curl my hair for free, even though that was already suppose to be done at the appointment. After reading other negative comments, it is clear that when this salon clearly messes up, their way of rectifying the situation is to gaslight you so that they donât have to take...

Original Review When you find a hairdresser that's amazing, you keep her for as long as you can. When you discover TWO of them running their own place, you make sure you keep coming back. But when you have 2 amazing women running their own salon with a fabulous team? You make sure you brag about their talents to anyone who will listen to make sure they have to stay around (even if you selfishly want to keep them to yourself)!! Seriously, though - Amanda and Maria are AMAZINGLY talented. They know what they're doing and how to make sure you always leave looking fabulous and confident. If I come in with an idea, Maria has always run with it or offered me advice on how best to improve it.
And in case these women aren't enough reason to stop by, there's also Charlie and Dre - cutest...
