Previously enjoyed coming here at first open, but as semesters continued the cafe aspect began to wither. Today I went in to study. And here is where I shall make my complaint vocal.
I enter to purchase a latte for business admittance and patronization. There's a blob of people at the counter entrance. Then I notice all tables have been smashed into the once open entrance for a massive party. I thought this was a relaxed place.
After standing in a line, a couple from the blob of people attempts to say "hey um I think we're next" completely oblivious to the line, I disregard them and protect my place in line by verbally denying their claim. The manager then interludes on the behalf of his experienced cashier before she even got to respond and blurts unceremoniously "What's the problem." He immediately assumed problems. We never exchanged names, made introductions, or reasoned. Please remember this bearded and beanied manager as he becomes a returning character.
The individual whom was just served by the cashier attests to my place in line, and after this the manager heels his problematic mouth. I order my latte, tip $1.50 and wait. The staff notifies me it will be a considerable time but I am patient.
I head to the book burrow and alas, every table was taken, by couples and a group with poor participation, I joined the group but was not engaged. I needed a place to sit. Eventually people I do not know from the group talk to me and accuse me of being tense. I sit in place. The bearded and beanied manager then approaches me as I sit and says, "You disrespect me, my customers, I want you out." As he stands above me with an authoritative and confrontational pose. Here is the funny part of this entitled manager ladies and gentlemen. After all this time. I still had no latte. And all I had done in my patronization was give money to a business while waiting in line, then sit in the most unbothering place I could to the establishment.
Before the zinger, I tell him "I won't argue with you." Then I look him dead in the eyes and just say "what about the product I purchased?" As I hold my receipt. He just stops. He tells me it will be done.
I go to the counter and wait then because I want out at this point. The overextended cashier yells for the bearded and beanied manager to work on his order, she yelled about two times(cashier was a good sweetheart) and then made it.
I retrieved my purchased...
Read moreMy husband and I went there for the first time on a Saturday morning, only about 30 minutes after opening. I ordered a turtle iced latte, my husband ordered an apple juice (he already had his morning coffee), and we each had gotten a quiche. If I knew how awful this place was, I would have never spent the money. They first made fun of my husband for ordering juice. The quiche was not edible by any means, it had so much water coming out of it and it was just a pile of mush, I ended up not eating it. When I first got the quiche, it was frozen in the middle, I took it to the counter to asked for it to be reheated, the worker slammed the food into the microwave and appeared annoyed the entire time. The quiche was still frozen when I got it back, and I didn't bother to ask to get it reheated again. They were only worried about talking to their friend sitting by the register. The only good thing was my latte, and even that was mediocre... this is the worst coffee shop I have...
Read moreMy partner and I really enjoyed coming to hooked and getting our cappuccinos until recently. Their staff today was just not accommodating and rude. My partner and I both had to ask for our cappuccinos remade because the expresso tasted muted as in whoever was making them wasn’t pulling the shots correctly. I explained this to the barista when she asked what was wrong with it. Our remakes were rushed and worse than the first ones. Food is very expensive…We don’t come to local cafes to have craft drinks made in under a minute or to be gaslit into thinking that we don’t know what we want/ask for and at the very least you don’t scowl and talk bad under your breath to regular customers who want nothing more than a good tasting coffee and excuse the behavior as “frustration”. I don’t think we will be back for a while and hope the owners consider providing proper and better training...
