I'm so glad my sister chose this old favorite of hers! This was my first time here. We started with feta, tzatziki, and the fried asparagus.
Let me tell you, fellow diners, I would have been happy with just appetizers! The tzatziki was the most flavorful I've ever had. The feta was delicious, and the asparagus was an absolute flavorful delight!! I don't like asparagus as a general rule, but when they wrapped it in batter and deep-fried it, it changed it! The deep, flavored tones of the asparagus were complimented by the batter. It was a deep, smokey treat that should be savored slowly, like a good cigar!!! We all got a different sandwich. Mine was the chicken Philly. It was flavorful, with a generous portion of everything. I got the Greek fries. Thinking about them, right now, my mouth is watering! I don't remember which sandwiches everyone got, but hubbs chili fries were loaded with chili. The bar itself is a wonderful old place. It's a nice size, plenty of seating, and it didn't feel pretentious. Idk why I noticed, but the wood floors reminded me of an old dance hall from when I was a kid. Our waitress was good. She kept hubbs beer full and kept the plates cleared. Also felt safe leaving. There was a heavy police presence outside and behind Steakhouse Phillys while we were there dining... (we didn't get there until 8:30 pm). This is only a few miles away from my job, so it'll be easy to get a quick lunch...
Read moreWent in to order take out and the experience was very uncomfortable. When I entered at the front counter I was instructed that orders must be made at the bar which is at the back of the building. The bar was very loud and no way for me to get to a BARTENDER to order my food. Once one of the WAITRESS let the bartender Shawna know that I was there to order take out the bartender stopped at the edge of the bar to have a conversation with a guy who stood less than 3ft away from me who I guess was her mate because after she and he kissed she stopped to ask me my order. After I paid for my food instead of her giving me my change of $12 she placed it next to the cash register and proceeded to make 3 drinks for people at the bar. I had to literally put my hand out to get her attention to give me my change. After I ordered I went to stand by the front area because the bar was extremely loud. I was then was instructed by the cook that my order will come out by the back bar. When I got home to eat my food my olive burger was very pink when I requested WELL done so I had to recook it. Shawna the bartender was not inviting and whole experience needs to be more friendly customer friendly I FELT like there was some discrimination. It would make sense to be able to make a take out order at the front counter instead of having to go to the BAR/BARTENDER . I WILL NEVER GO...
Read moreMy dog Marvin was diagnosed with advanced stage lung cancer, he declined very quickly and it came out of nowhere, he was his happy self and declined overnight. I called here and told them I wanted to order a steak dinner for him, as he was going to be put to rest within the hour. We waited in the parking lot with our other dog and someone who I can only describe as the angel I needed that day brought me the steak dinner with a little dessert at no charge. I cannot explain how much this act of kindness meant to our family during this incredibly shocking and horrific time. We do not live in town but will be visiting this establishment any time we are here. I would absolutely recommend them for any of your dining needs, you don’t find people who care like that anymore and they do. Marvin had been with me for 10 wonderful years, I found him at a gas station with a belt around his neck and he was skin and bones, people say I saved him but he truly saved my life more than once. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me give him his very favorite thing before he went to heaven. I could never repay you for your kindness. Thank you to everyone who was working on 5/30/2024 and I pray for all of the kind and good things to happen to you, because you were so kind to do this final thing...
