I try my best to look for diamonds in the rough and here it is my friends! First of all, the owner was our waitress, bartender, AND our cook and nailed every single bit that we had no clue until we started asking to compliment the cook! Now let's talk food....absolutely amazing! Literally everything was cooked to absolute perfection. Not over or under on anything. Ordered fried pickles, catfish and crawfish rice, and fried porkchops and potatoes. The rice was so good my old man had to start shooing my fork away from stealing it. The catfish was cooked to perfection and had amazing flavor. The pickles were also perfect, not too thin or thick and fried golden brown, just on it. Then the porkchops...my goodness, so so good! Also cooked perfectly and flavorful. The potatoes were awesome as well. Portions are generous and well worth it. You won't regret stopping, you'll only regret passing it by. *pay attention to your GPS and turn right before auto zone and you'll see the sign. The sign doesn't face the road but she stated maybe next year they'll add another one. Just pull...

If we lived anywhere near Francois’ Tavern, we would be regulars every single week! From the moment we walked in, we knew we had found something special, but the food and service went beyond our highest expectations.
We ordered the swamp tacos, crawfish nachos, corn and crab soup, and crawfish étouffée, and every single dish was the best we’ve ever had. The flavors were deep, rich, and authentic—each bite was an experience in itself.
What truly set this place apart, though, was the incredible hospitality. My son ordered wings that ended up being too spicy for him, and without us saying a word, the chef noticed and offered to bring him fresh wings with a milder sauce—free of charge. That level of care and attention is so rare and speaks volumes about the kind of establishment this is.
If you’re anywhere near LaPlace, do not miss this gem. We’re from Canada, or else we’d be here every single week! Until we can return, we’ll be dreaming about this meal.
Francois’ Tavern is a must-visit—easily one of the best dining experiences...
Read moreOk I’m not trying to be negative but will give an honest review. I ordered from Francois Tavern because I saw all five stars on the reviews. I spent $67 dollars. I ordered the crawfish etouffee, fried fish with crawfish rice and tacos. This is my honest review after tasting their food. The etouffee was ok but for $19.99 I expected more food than what I received. I was very disappointed. I had to cook more rice because I had about an ounce of rice for the amount of gravy that was given. My husband had the fish and crawfish rice for $22.99 which wasn’t very much for the price but said it was only ok. I tasted the fish and it was a bit salty. The tacos were $15.99 for three tacos. I only ate the fish taco which had a sweet sauce on it. It was just ok. I gave the other two which was beef and chicken to my granddaughter. Don’t know how it tasted. Overall, their food is ok but overpriced for the amount of food you get. I’m all for supporting small businesses and tend to give them all...
