Chinese King — Restaurant in Louisiana

I’ve been here plenty of times. My review isn’t a reflection of the food (which was okay) but instead it’s a reflection of what I experienced while dining in. A customer walked in, no one was there to greet him, which happens there sometimes. He waited a bit to order but then proceeded to go to the restrooms at which point the server came out of the back, mind you while he was midway to the restrooms, she rudely scolded him stating the restrooms were closed. He knew, she knew and I knew that the restrooms weren’t closed. I had just used them, it’s a restaurant for God’s sake, they were open. He turned around and told her he wouldn’t be ordering from her menu and he left. The encounter was odd and rude. I think the gentleman was profiled. I couldn’t see this happening to everyone who the server would have encountered in that circumstance. I felt bad for the guy. He did have intentions of ordering and had she been up there when he entered she would have known how long he actually waited for her and that he was a paying customer. I think he would have been allowed to use the restrooms then. He didn’t fit “a certain appearance” to have that common privilege or the respect to be treated like the rest of her customers is what I think she thought when she saw him, assuming he only came for restrooms. It was odd and mean and I won’t be returning...

Shrimp fried rice has no vegetables besides a few pieces of white onion and green onion. There was a piece of egg that I did find in the large sized box of rice- it was approximately a centimeter in diameter (no other egg was found!) Rice was not fluffy, shrimp are extremely small and imported (also died orange), not succulent at all. I could make something way better at home for cheaper. My daughter (mixed race) walked into the restaurant behind me, once I placed an order to go, and she asked where the restroom was. The older lady there told her that they didn't have a restroom (this was right after I just used the restroom.) Might I add- restroom was crappy! I motioned for my daughter to go back and showed her where the restroom was, the lady tried to stop her and was very feisty about it and had a disgusted look on her face. When I walked over to see what the problem was, the lady asked if she was with me. I responded "yes". She still had a disgusted look on her face and didn't say anything and just walked off.

That will be the last time I will ever go there. There's much better places in Laplace for Chinese. Dragon Garden is pretty good and so is...

This is a staple in the community and a place I used to frequent QUITE a bit back in the day. My most recent visit here only brought back FOND, FOND memories of when I first started to frequent this restaurant over 17 years ago.

The service is great. Always greeted with a smile, the cashiers are in place to be of assistance and this is just what they do.

The waiting area is just adjacent to the dining area and both areas are quite expansive; so if you're picking up or dining in, they've got you covered.

The menu is also massive and there's bound to be something there for all palettes.

For me this was a pickup order, so I got the food and jetted. My wait time was nominal; when I arrived, I only had to pay for the food and I was free to go. Calling ahead to place an order is the smart thing to do, if you're not dining in.

The food was great tasting. The temperature was good. And the price was right.
