Petra Restaurant & Lounge — Restaurant in Louisiana

Let me start with the obvious, this place is very GOOD. I heard it has been around for a whileee so I tried it with the lady and the Food Just HITT. We ordered an appetizer being the Mushroom Toppers and immediately we were hit with some beautiful flavor from the crab meat and the mushroom, it was easily the best appetizer I have had in a restaurant. I have included pictures with one of them being beautiful and the other one showing their fates.. so take a look (We even took some more home to mess up later). They gave us some nice complimentary bread with butter which we obviously messed up too so it was nice while we waited for what we ordered which for me was the New York Strip Steak with a Sprite and her Crawfish Pontchartrain pasta with an unsweet tea which we sweetened with some of the zero calorie sweeteners available and the tea was good luckily and I personally don't like that kind of tea. After maybe waiting for only 10-15 minutes we got the food with my steak ordered medium rare and I got medium rare, that was goooddd especially with the garlic butter sauce so I messed that up and she messed up her pasta (at least what she could eat) with me destroying it later and taking the rest home as a man should do (pictures below). Yes, I agree they both looked so good, and they were and that was it, we ate, the waiters were very cool with any requests and in general and we left very satisfied with those generous portions with some relatively respectable prices I would say...

Very poor service ‘ long wait for drinks and the waitress never asked if we would like a refill , she forgot the dressing for my salad and brought it when the meal came,, the steak was very good but more could have with it not just a baked small potato. We paid the bill with a hundred dollar bill and she shorted the change by 20. Dollars good thing he counted it before she left our table ..then she took back all the money and bill and Was Gone for over ten minutes to count it,,, really! They were not busy 2 people at the bar and 5 in the dining area! My husband always tips 20% because of the low wages ,, we were there for 2hours! Not because we didn’t want to leave but because it took that long for service. We had to wait 15 minutes just to get the bill! Another long wait for our correct change! I don’t know how they stay in business....but the steak is really good,, that’s why I gave...

This place is unpleasent and denied a request for a grilled chicken breast by itself. So here I am sitting here watching my family eat in front me. I have special dietary needs and everywhere I have gone from Olive Garden, to Zea's has fulfilled such a simple request. Then I order a cup of coffee for a chance to fill up my stomach so that I may last the whole meal so I can get home to eat and the coffee is ice cold. So the coffee got sent back and bam! Microwaved coffee thats been sitting there all day. On top of that they are hosting a lions club get together and everyone is yelling and nothing is being done to neutralize that. Therefore I leave you with.....do not come here unless you keep it simple and quick because it is unpleasent and apparently very limited on decision making. Good luck if you so...
