Cinco Villa — Restaurant in Laredo

A mixed experience for my first time. Ordered the pollo villa, which was grilled chicken over avocado. Also had a pirata. All of the food was delicious. I felt the size of the chicken plate was relatively small for the price. What was strange is that I was severed this plate with no utensils. Not sure if this was on purpose or the waitress simply forgot to give them to me. And since she never checked on me during my meal I couldn’t ask. I scooped up the chicken and avocado with tortillas and a few of the chips. Also, I don’t like that I am given (and of course had to pay for) bottled water.

The pirata was also tasty and the salsa provided were nice and spicy. Overall I enjoyed the meal and will come back to try other things...

Absolutely awesome spot for authentic tacos. They serve legitimate tacos al pastor, shaved straight off the trompo. Definitely some of the best I've ever had, and it's difficult to find authentic tacos de trompo outside of Mexico. Their charro beans and salsa are also fantastic, especially their green salsa. There's no soda fountain for free refills, and instead they serve Mexican bottled cokes and agua fresca, a nice touch. The tacos are a little pricy for Laredo but significantly cheaper than central cities like Austin, and way tastier. New owners made changes to the way they used to cook the food. The pastor is now pork ground beef with pastor seasoning, the chicken that used to be there Signature is now also ground chicken. The corn tortillas get stale when they cool off in your plate as you are eating. The Ranchero beans are rinsed out ranch style beans, the Cilantro and onion they serve is mostly onion with one clove of cilantro. We have been custumers since it was called Tacos Giro and although its been thru several owners the taste had remained the same until now. We might have to kiss that place good bye..very very disappointed with the food the last 2 times that we have been there. Custumer service is...
