Golondrina Food Park — Restaurant in Laredo

Just got assaulted by a car with multiple assailants who got out and Security did not do the due diligence to respond. A group was driving very aggressively and went to back into a spot without signaling in front of me. They had gotten there before and we’re having trouble parking. I passed them safely and shined my bright lights at then. That’s when I had them pull up to my right and 2-3 men got our screaming at me with their Versace shirts. They started punching the car all over with one trying to open the door which is when I drove off. I went around and asked for security which is when Bastion supervisor called Garza along with other 2 other guys (one in Bastion uniform who shined his light and did not wish to identify because “I already told you my name sir” was his response to each time I asked. I lost out on my food, got assaulted and came back to report it, got threatened by the security staff to the point point where I placed a complaint with their HR department. I had to place a police report and will not allow entitled people get above all else. My main concern is that, I call to Golondrina, Bar Nido only to find out they’re not working numbers. 🤷🏻‍♂️ what am I to do when I get attacked just getting food? I’m disappointed in the appointed security Supervisor identified as Garza because he had no tactfulness or due diligence to handle a situation such as presented. Terrible representation of leadership and showmanship which I’ve come to respect across the years thru the company and members he represents. I commend and Love Bastion but this person was not a true representative of what they stand for.

Let’s see there were 4 food trucks: Tito’s, Mulas, The Nomada Truck, and one that just said “Coffee” on it. Inside, there’s a bar, Picate Mucho (a snack place), and a Pizza Counter.

On my first visit, we were a group of 5, and we ordered from Tito’s, Mula’s, and Nomada. We ended up with 3 different little buzzers while we waited at our table. Our food was ready to pick-up around 15 minutes (a few minutes more for our Tito’s order).

We sat outside, and really enjoyed the nice cloudy day, but you can take your food and sit in an inside area if you want to. Our picnic table was plain, but there are some with large umbrellas, and then there are also tables under a large sheet metal roof. Variety is the name of the game here.

This food park also overlooks the San Isidro park, so you can go for a day at the park, then stop by for a cool drink or cold snack after a hot day.

This place is unique to the north side of laredo. The food trucks are a bit pricey, but the food is pretty good. From tacos to elotes they have something for everyone. The bar is inside but it can get a little tight in there as space and seating is limited. Outside there is a covering and picnic style seating which fills quick on weekends. They allow alcohol from the bar outside in the fenced in area and have games like Jenga and Cornhole to keep you busy. This is a more adult atmosphere for obvious reasons however unfortunately people bring their kids and they create a chaotic and noisy atmosphere.
