La Paletera Ice Cream and Fruit Cups — Restaurant in Laredo

I used to come here all the time with my dad and my family to hang out and eat chucherias. It used to feel warm and welcoming and we used to basically order dinner and get full off of tortas and fruit cups and paletas and Mexican drinks! 🍍🌽🥤

I was looking to rent the little paleta carts and buy in bulk for an event. Even though there is a sign that says rent me for the little cart the lady said they don’t do that any more. She was also not rude but not welcoming if that makes sense 🤷🏻‍♀️. Maybe it was a long day? I felt rushed and was asking about buying paletas in bulk and she said maybe if I ordered like 300 I might get a small discount. She said any large order would have to be made in advance because they order them and they aren’t made there.

I didn’t feel like staying there to enjoy my paleta, it was kind of like umm ok I got my treat and I feel like I should leave 😅

The nuez paleta was de crema and it was sooo good. I don’t have that much sugar often and I’m lactose intolerant 😅 so my head and stomach hurt 1/2 way through because it’s a lot of sugar but it was really good!

Costumer service is very important to me. I came in every thing looked very clean other than the floors, it’s understandable. I couldn’t help to ignore this lady that was being rude to the employees and customers. She was literally screaming at a young boy to get away, who tried helping her organize the ice cream. And she was just rolling her eyes at this costumer while she placed an order. This other costumer tried canceling an order before being charged and she screamed at her “do you want it or not?” I was in shock. Some costumers asked for the receipt and she told them the machine didn’t print. I know sometimes it’s very tiring to work full time but as a customer it’s very important to get great customer service, we are paying for it. I don’t have nothing to write about the food or snacks every thing is clean and great prices just this employee that made me overthink to place another order because her attitude was to much. I enjoy this place so much! I always get a Torta de ternera and my friend always goes for the Torta de milanesa. They are both so delicious! With the combo you get a drink and a choice of chips or fruit on the side. All the “aguas” here are so tasty! You can find many options of snacks and ice cream and other food items on the menu. The staff is always attentive and kind and quick! I recommend this place if you’re looking for sweets or an entire meal! Plus, the place is so cute and colorful, they even have seating outside if you prefer....
