Tried this place based on the reviews. Unfortunately, I do not speak Spanish and I am unfamiliar with this cuisine. That is why we chose El Tipico Latino - because we like to try new things. When we entered, we were greeted with a smile by two young women behind the counter. I explained that we had never been there before and asked for a recommendation from the large selection of dishes. The volume of music playing in the store was so loud that it made it impossible to hear or understand the heavily accented English response to my question. Because the majority of customers were there for take-out, we were left with the impression that the music was for the entertainment of the staff, NOT the customers. There were no signs in any language, no menu and no prices posted that we could see. My wife recognized and ordered pulled pork which was very good. After the server assured me that the selection that I chose was beef, it turned out to be liver. This is probably a wonderful place for people totally familiar with the cuisine and who can recognize the food based on appearance but not for anyone else. My suggestion to the owner - please put up bi-lingual signs describing the food selections so that everyone can make informed choices. There are Anglos that would love to enjoy your restaurant, but you are making it...
Read moreThe owner of the restaurant really needs to think strongly about "flies" that go on the food I received service a couple months ago (2025) And I had a "fly" in my avocado salad. I even seen from my table that the owner had a medium size towel while he was eating and swatting the flies away where he was eating. Can he do a better job about this? I think so It's totally up to him. I can't understand that he may receive disgruntled customers and then get on the defensive side but you can't try to Retaliate with the same attitude as the customers because that is only showing that you're no different from them. But my main concern is the flies that come inside the restaurant and go on the food before you order....
Read moreI visited this restaurant recently and unfortunately had a very negative experience. While the food was decent, the service was far from acceptable. The man who took my order was exceptionally rude; he even threw my change at me after I simply asked about the price of a can of soda. This level of disrespect is completely unacceptable and overshadowed the meal. The woman behind the counter, while not as rude, also seemed annoyed, possibly due to the negative atmosphere created by her colleague. I’ve been on the lookout for good Spanish places to support my Latin community as i am also Dominican, but this encounter has made me unwilling to return. The restaurant owners should address this issue, as it is damaging their reputation.
