I went to the outback in Largo Florida. I sat at the bar to have dinner. There were dirty dishes in front of me and food on the bar counter. The bartender girl, was helping other people, and when she came to where I was sitting, she cleared the dirty dishes and put the menu in front of me, I asked if she could wipe the bar down, she turned around without responding made a few more drinks took money from a customer, several minutes later she came over and wiped the bar down leaving it wet, And put the menus in front of me, turned around and walked away. She didn’t ask me if I wanted anything like water cocktail, etc. When she came back, I asked her if I could order a cocktail, I ordered an old-fashioned and when she went to make the drink, never washing her hands after grabbing money, dirty dishes etc, She put the glass up against her belly, grab a orange with her dirty hands, and was muddling an orange, up against her belly, how disgusting! She brought me my drink, turn around and walked away instead of asking if I was ready to order. When she came back a few minutes later, I said to her I was ready to order And she said OK I’ll be with you in a minute several minutes went by. She finally came back. I ordered a New York strip potato and a salad. About 10 minutes later I still hadn’t gotten my salad, several more minutes later they brought my steak and potato, I asked the bartender girl where is my salad She said let me check your order she came back and said I’m sorry I’ll get that for you right now and I said that’s OK I don’t want it she said do you want me to box it up for you? I said no (now I’m frustrated) and said you should have paid a little more attention to me, as she walked away she said I’m the only bartender and I’m busy, I can’t watch everybody. Wow! I’m thinking that’s a shame to be rude to me when I’m the one who’s paying & not getting good service or what I paid for. when she came back she says how is your steak and I said the steak is fine, but I would like some A1 sauce. Her comment was we’re not supposed to offer any sauce, I replied that’s fine but you could of asked if I needed anything else when they delivered the food, but you were frustrated because I complained about your service. So, I ordered my second old-fashioned, again, I never seen her wash her hands after grabbing money, clearing dishes, etc., she grabbed my glass with her dirty hands again she put an orange in the glass and muddled it against her belly. Now I’m getting upset, I asked for a bar straw because I didn’t want to put my lips on that class after seeing how unhygienic she is. I finish my meal I asked for the check, she brings the check and it only has one old-fashioned on there. I said I ordered two, wanting to be honest, she said she was giving me the second old-fashioned. Of course I would like a free drink, but she’s giving away corporate money for her mistake, maybe that’s their policy I don’t know. I can say this it was a very bad experience with her. The cooks & servers I have no problem with, my meal was delicious. The bartender, was very unhygienic and rude to me, I felt very uncomfortable, when I’m the paying customer, who normally doesn’t say anything but this time I think you readers...
Read moreDrove 30 minutes out of the way to have horrible service, when my husband and I were seated the 3 woman servers looked at us stood talking about who was going to serve us..(1st Red flag) second was the blooming onion we ordered was completely soaked in grease (yes we know it's fried) but it was so brown and even hot grease was just dripping off the plate. Then when we got out food the Cesar salad that was ordered was drenched in dressing, over drenched we asked for a day salad so we could mix half of the soak lettuce with the dry to balance it out and it was still wayyyy too much dressing. Nobody apologized or anything . The service was horrible and WE WONT GO BACK AGAIN. TWO WEEKS WANT STILL NO CONTACT FROM THE OWNERS EITHER.. REALLY SAD
Update 10/16 I finally received contact and spoke with Steven he was very nice and apologetic towards the situation he also remedied a solution and for that I am very grateful he wasn't like other managers and shrugged it off I could tell he was very genuine with his words and my husband and I will give them a second chance.. will update when we return back... Only changing my one star to 3 stars because of STEVEN and his great attitude.
Update 10/21 went back to this outback to give them another try.. Steven wasn't here to oversee everything but it was a decent experience .. I wait to speak to Tony I believe (she didn't seem to really be aware of what happened last time) anyways i waited almost 10 minutes to be seated the hostess up front didn't know I was staying to eat nor did she ask she cleaned a table and smile at me walked past and smile, i tried to get her attention but i just waited.. no big deal just miscommunication. We were seated and our waiter Gabriel was nice and took our order when the food came out my steak was over cooked but right away he took it back and got me a medium rare like I had ordered, the food was delicious the bloomin onion was not drenched this time . All in all a decent time. I can't highly recommend but I can say try it at least once an then decide for yourself..I can say the towomba sauce is DELICIOUS!also the gradituity doesn't match up either because they comped a the steak that had to be remade which made the total higher and at the bottom it gives you a guide an it went based off of the original price before the steak was comped, not upset about it but if I didn't know math I would've been lied to so gross check 110.69 before deduction it said the tip was like 19$ for 18 percent but in reality my bill was 91.20 an the tip would've been less just a heads up before going off the check.( My food to go leaked...
Read moreSunday 7-28-24 went in for Dinner. Greeted at the door and was suggested to sit at the bar. Set at the Bar. Was 1 male and 2 females(white) working at the Bar. Approx. 6 minutes passed. A white male came in and set next to me, immediately was given water and asked if he knew what he wanted. I advised the white female waitress, Wow. i have been sitting here for about 6 minutes and no one has helped me. She said do you want some water?
Order placed, as was his. and the white male waiter went around to everyone in the bar are checking on them to see if everything was ok , etc. not once did he look in my direction and or ask me. I was the only African Amercian sitting at the Bar.
The white male, finished his salad as was mine and was finished prior to. but the white waiter, said to the white male. let me get this (salad plate ) out of your way. Not once taking mine etc.
Food comes, the white waiter ask the white male sitting right next to me do you want some water? Mind you my glass had been half empty for some time. i guess he could tell i was starring at him and ask me do i want some water?
I then ask for my bill. placed my credit card with bill. set for about 7 minutes, tried to get my waitress attention as her and male waiter was just standing at the end of the bar talking. i was completely ignored. then the white male waiter, comes to white male sitting next to me and ask if he is done, gives him his bill and he said he is military. checks him out and says have a good day. i had to hold my bill up and say i ready.
upon leaving i requested to speak with the manager. I spoke with manager ( Manny), advised him what had happened. I advised him they need to undergo Diversity training. All he keep stating was " I am sorry" seemed very rehearsed. Not once stating that he would address it with the employees. I advised him i have been to the Outback on Gulf to Bay, set at the Bar and never a issue. All Manny stated was " I hope you give us another chance"
This was clearly Racial Discrimination. I was not provided the same level of service as the white male sitting next to me, or for that matter any of the...
