Sadly a low review. Pizza tasted really good but I can’t leave a good review. Here is my experience.
I ordered late. For some reason even though I was the only person there it took a few minutes for someone to help me. I got the pizza and looked at it, was kinda disappointed, but when I got home and measured it was supposed to be 18” pie. The pie I got had 2” crust and was 15”. Was mad didn’t bother taking it back or calling.
Today I thought about getting another pizza and giving them another chance. I went waited for like 5 mins before women walked out. She was ever too. I politely told her to i will wait. A man came out a minute later. I started to show them the pie, and ask if they would be happy with the pie. He kinda got visibly upset telling me it was “you want a free pie” before I could even ask my question then he said “it had 18” worth of toppings and the pizza must have been messed up in the oven” and was “like you want a free pie”. then proceeded to ask him the question again. I was just wanting him to acknowledge the fact that 1/3 of the pizza was missing.. area of a circle it’s simple 5” of the pie was not there between size and crust. But he didn’t wanna be honest with me. I really would have liked maybe a credit of the difference and a promise to be better and acknowledge how he would have felt. Instead now he made me feel like I was some grifter trying to hassle him for a free pizza.
No I wanted to leave a 5 star review and eat a good pizza and be happy with a 18” pie … I don’t want 18” pie toppings I want a 18” pie with 18” toppings.
I felt like I shouldn’t even stopped in. Beware order smaller pie if you order from here they will charge you for 18 and give you 14”...
Read moreFound Verola's on Google and decided to give it a shot. Glad we did. The owner shared they opened just 7 months ago and are still getting settled. That said, we had a great dinner. Our server was super friendly and attentive. They have a brick pizza oven and our pizza was fantastic. Great crust and the perfect blend of sauce, cheese, and toppings. I would say their pizza is a mix of NY and Chicago style, brick oven pizza. The house salad was fresh, field greens and their house vinaigrette dressing was awesome!! They have a few wines to choose from and beer. The owner shared with me that they are looking to expand their selection. No soda fountain (yet), but bottled soda options are available. The restaurant was very clean and comfortable. Super casual and definitely family friendly. Open floor plan with tables spread throughout the floor. They would benefit from a few TV's in my opinion. They offer dine in and take out options. If you are looking for a good pizza, served fresh and fast with friendly service and no frills, this is your spot! I know I'll be back... Can't wait to see how they...
Read moreI finally got around to trying Verola's Pizzeria on the recommendation from the Yoga studio cross the street. I am going to give them 10/10, the crust was excellent I had the Classic and the Buffalo Pizza, looking forward to our next visit and trying other signature pizzas. Being a NY guy and raised in the restaurant business, I would go as far as to say they could go up against any NY pizza and I've tried them all. I asked what took them so long to open, the owner casually said there was a bit of paperwork to be done through the city, goes to show you he's a nice guy the way he said it, I'll say shame on the city for not helping small businesses like his and it took him 3 years plus to get permits to open. Over the years I've seen big stores like Frenchy's and other big operators take over stores and be open in months and I've been in the Clearwater area for over 35 years. Once again, shame on the city. Folks, give it a try, it's a Mom and Pop operation -...
