Well, not so good. Ordered small margarita and if there was liquor in there, you could have fooled me....and maybe they did. Gratis corn chips were stale! Do not understand that at all. Ordered chicken mole and fish enchiladas. Here’s the thing - there were no cooking smells coming out of that place. Nothing. Not in the restaurant or outside it. So, all I can assume is that the food is premade and reheated before you order. There are a lot of problems with running a restaurant like this. But a lot of mediocre to poor ‘restaurants’ seem to be operating this way these days. Everything on my plate was lukewarm - everything. The waiter just plopped the plates on the table and ran. Never came back. Now, I’m not of Mexican or Latino heritage - but I’m a cook. I’ve made a mole. Their version - eh - a starchy quickly thrown together version of mole, in my opinion. Barely warm mole with chunks of over cooked chicken is not my idea of a great dish. Served with cold rice and mashed beans - best thing on the plate was the melted cheese on the bean paste - and that’s not saying much. Not a tortilla in sight - no tortilla served with mole?! Please. The fish enchilada came out as fish tacos. But the waiter was nowhere to be found - so my husband just ate it. I tasted the fish - told him it tasted off - VERY fishy tasting and smelling - but he dug in anyway. He threw up all night. Which is why I’m writing this review. This is the #1 worst mistake any restaurant can make - making you sick with bad food. The waiter was very dismissive of us. We weren’t locals (from Larkspur), yah-my husband asked what a Mexican word was on the menu -yah (that seemed to offend the waiter in some way) - but that doesn't mean we don’t know good Mexican food, or good food for that matter, when we eat it! We don’t do recreational drugs - so the food has to be well prepared and tasty and well presented - as our judgment isn’t under the influence of anything but our taste buds and knowledge of what food SHOULD taste like. FYI - the whole fiasco cost us $42 (before tip). Not worth the trip, in my humble opinion. And maybe we’re not Larkspur locals, but we’re close! We’ve lived in Monument 30 years - Colorado Springs 10 years before that - if a restaurant is good - we’re customers for life - until they do stuff like this. Unfortunately, word of mouth from us will be not to waste your time on this place and recounting the bad food/throwing up experience to all. Have had better at La Casa Fiesta in...

I arrived 25 minutes before closing, planning to dine in. When we asked for just one more minute to decide what to order, the staff member responded with, “Please hurry, we have 15 minutes till close.” That immediately set a negative tone. It’s hard to enjoy a meal when you’re being rushed and essentially told, we don’t want you here. If a restaurant is open until a certain time, guests should be treated with the same level of respect and hospitality as if they had arrived earlier. Unfortunately, this experience felt anything but welcoming. We didn’t feel appreciated as customers and customer service is everything in the restaurant business. Because of that, I have to give...
Read moreI-25 was doing its thing, so we had the good fortune of stopping at Charrito’s for lunch. What a great decision! We had a wonderful experience. The service was friendly and prompt. The food was remarkable. Everything I had was house made, and it made all the difference. I had a molcajete- something I hadn’t had the opportunity to try before. What a fantastic dish! Just the right amount of meat and cheese with a wonderful tomatillo sauce. It was like nothing I’ve had before. And the homemade tortillas just made it perfect.
It was good enough that I’ll be driving the hour back down to...
